Chapter 45: Made For Each Other

Pooja and Mahi were sitting in the sofa with a lot of questions written all over their face, while Arjun was sitting with his face rested on his palm.

Aditya was sitting in the sofa opposite them, taking shifts at glancing each one of them. He also looked at the room at the far end, where Zoya had taken her aunt along with her, to give her the much needed explanation, while pausing the birthday celebrations for the night, and resuming it again the next morning.

But he wasn't much worried about that. He looked back at the three of them again, and along with the eerie silence in that room, he felt like being in a criminal investigation; just the handcuffs missing in his hand. He looked at Arjun, who looked like his girlfriend had just broken up with him. Aditya was already preparing himself to witness a huge drama presented by Arjun, with Pooja and Mahi serving him as background artistes.

"How could you, Bhai?" Arjun asked in a loud tone, breaking the silence in that room, jolting Mahi from her place.

"Bhai, I was always waiting for something like this to happen in your life, and you kept such a huge truth away from me?" Arjun asked with a worried face, "From your only brother?"

Pooja sensed Arjun slowly being possessed by the genes of his melodramatic mother, Anjana Hooda. Arjun loves creating high-intensity dramas even for a missing pencil, and now with such a huge matter, she was sure he was going to give such a performance, which can beat all the TV soap dramas that exisited till date.

"Arjun...it wasn't like that. It's not been so long..." Aditya explained, while Arjun extended his hand and gestured Aditya to stop, "No Bhai! I don't want to listen to anything!"

"Ohhh...okay fine." Aditya said, and leaned back on the chair and stayed quiet.

Arjun had a baffled look, as he asked, "What?"

"What?" Aditya asked back, throwing his hands in the air.

"You don't want to say anything?" Arjun asked.

"You just told me that you don't want to listen to anything!" Aditya said with a puzzled face.

"I will tell like that only...so?" Arjun asked, "You should still convince me. That's how you react in such situations!" He turned at Pooja and asked, "What's wrong with him?"

"What's wrong with you, yaar?" Pooja asked, getting up from her place, "Is this some TV soap shooting? Some saas bahu scene going on here, huh? God! The amount of drama you do...quit engineering field and join the TV industry along with your mother. Meena Kumari!"

"What did I..." Arjun retaliated, while Pooja went to him and shut his mouth with her palm, and looked at Aditya, "But seriously Adi, why didn't you tell us such a happy news? You don't know how much we wanted to see you and Zoya together?"

"Pooja..." Aditya heaved as he explained, "It's not that we have been together for so long, and we didn't want you guys to know for some other ulterior motive. We just thought to have a 'we phase' for some days, and then...share it with you all. That's it!"

Aditya pointed at the decorations around, and said, "But...but we didn't know it would come out in the open...here. It just happened."

"But what I don't understand is..." Pooja walked towards Aditya and sat in the arm rest of the sofa, "How did it happen suddenly? I mean...I spoke a lot to her about this, and how did she suddenly change her mind? When did this happen? Since when are you both together?"

Aditya looked down, spinning the mobile in his hand, as he said, "Remember, you guys met us at home that night...with pizza and everything...that day."
