Chapter 38 Lost and Found

Rani and Fuli continued searching for Kion but luckily they were now travelling with Buku the beaver. "Thanks for your help Buku" Rani thanked smiling, Buku smiled back and looked at Rani and Fuli, "My pleassure" Buku replied as they continued to search for Kion. Fuli and Rani looked at each other and gave reassuring smiles. "So tell me more about this persuader plant," Buku asked curiously, Rani and Fuli looked at Buku while they walked, "It messed with our heads" Rani explained. "It made us attack each other, It let our emotions overcome our head and in the end, we knocked Kion into the river" Fuli finished explaining saddened. Buku looks at their worried looks and blameful looks, "Fuli, Rani, it's not your fault" Buku reassured. "Everyone keeps saying that but It doesn't make us feel better becuase we don't know where Kion is" Fuli and Rani cried in denial. "Kion is a strong, brave, and determine fellow, you both should have faith not just in Kion but our ability to find Kion too" Buku reassured trying to teach a point.

After listening to some words from Buku, Rani and Fuli realized Buku was right, "Thanks Buku" They thanked. Buku smiled, "Building Dams are not my only job" Buku joked, Fuli and Rani smiled and laughed a little following Buku through the forest. Buku was walking ahead-looking near the riverside while Fuli and Rani looked around the area. "Rani! Fuli!" Buku called, Fuli and Rani hurried over to Buku as he called them. Buku pointed at a rock in the river and there was blood on it. Fuli and Rani eyes widened seeing blood on the rock and they covered their mouths in complete shock and fear. Buku jumped into the river and went to the rock feeling the blood, "It's still wet, meaning Kion was here recently"  Buku explained. Buku looked at them from a distance, "I'll follow the river current you two should check the forest just in case Kion got out of the water" Buku suggested diving into the water.

Fuli and Rani split up into the forest searching for Kion or any clues leading to where he could be. Rani was searching her part and was trying to sniff out a scent but no luck, Rani looked up to the clouds, "Grandmother please guide us to Kion" Rani prayed. "Queen Rani?" A beaver questioned. Rani jumped and turned quickly but was relieved to see Buku's beavers, "Oh my, you scared me" Rani admitted. "sorry about that, also we're sorry to say we couldn't find Kion" A beaver reported. Rani looked at them, "Thanks for your help could you possibly find the Lion Guard and my team and tell them where we are" Rani asked. The beaver nodded and left with the others to go find the Lion Guard and Night Pride.

While Rani continued her search Fuli was searching her side of the forest, "Please be okay Kion...Please" Fuli begged to herself as a tear dropped onto the ground. As Fuli walked she saw more blood and she backed up scared but Fuli took a breath in then out, Fuli then followed the trail. Rani didn't find anything so she was on her way to meet up with Fuli."AHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Fuli shouted horrified, Rani heard Fuli scream and she ran to find her. After running for a bit Rani stopped in her tracks as she saw Fuli. Fuli ran to Kion, "Kion..Kion..Kion" Fuli shouted repeatedly bawling her eyes out.  Rani walked out and stopped immediately seeing Kion on the ground and Fuli was pushing her head against Kion's back trying to wake him, Rani started to cry her eyes out seeing blood, and Kion's injuries. "Rani help me" Fuli cried trying to turn Kion over, Rani wiped her tears so she could see and she ran over helping Fuli flip Kion over. When they rolled him over his eyes were closed, he was cold, bleeding, and his paw laid on the ground lifeless.

Rani and Fuli put their paws on Kion's heart trying to hear a heartbeat, they weren't hearing anything and they couldn't stop crying, but they continued to listen for a heartbeat but nothing. "We need to do something" Rani cried.  "Let's do Cpr together" Fuli suggested, Rani nodded. "I'll start, I'll give oxygen then you do compressions, then we switch" Fuli insisted very determine. Rani didn't care what role she had she just wanted to do it A.S.A.P. Fuli starting breathing into Kion mouth giving oxygen and Fuli stopped after a few seconds and backed up. Rani pressed on Kion's chest doing compressions after Rani did that they switch Rani did breathing and Fuli did compressions and they continued this cycle working together to try and help the lion they both loved. 

They continued doing this for several minutes to help bring Kion back, "Come On Kion stay with us" Rani added. "You can't leave Kion" Fuli added switching with Rani, Fuli and Rani continued doing CPR to Kion. "WAIT! STOP!" Rani shouted, Fuli stopped and they both put their paws on Kion's chest and felt a very slow heartbeat. They both exhaled and hugged each other thankfully, then they both hugged Kion as they both were relieved and crying.
