Chapter 41 Something Wrong With Kion

For the last 2 days, Buku has been teaching Makini and Nirmala his healing tricks and techniques. The Lion Guard and Night Pride continue their patrols at the tree of life time to time, to make sure everyone is alright. But after patrol, they head back to the cave to check on Kion. Fuli and Rani have been healed physically but they rest in the cave all day every day waiting for Kion to wake up. Fuli and Rani both nuzzled with Kion hoping for his eyes to open soon. As they nuzzled they both continued to question what Buku talked about spiritual healing.

"Thanks for the help Buku" Nirmala thanked, but as Nirmala thanked Buku, he was distracted watching Kion, Fuli, and Rani. "Umm Buku" Makini whispered, Buku shook his head and looked at them, "Sorry that's great," Buku said zoning out. "Buku what's wrong," Nirmala asked, Buku sighs looking at Nirmala and Makini, "you see Nirmala Kion has not wakened up yet I find that scary" Buku explained. Nirmala, Makini, and Buku all frown watching Fuli and Rani nuzzling Kion as he sleeps.

"RANI!" Fuli shouted Rani's head pops up, "What's wrong Fuli?" Rani asked worriedly. "Feel over here" Fuli advised. Rani walked over and placed her paw on Kion's chest and it was cold and weak. "BUKU! NIRMALA! MAKINI!" Rani shouted, the three healers quickly ran into the cave, "What's wrong?" Nirmala asked. "It's Kion" Fuli answered distressed, Buku came closer feeling Kion's cold chest and weak heartbeat. "Oh No! It's what I feared," Buku told them, "ULLU!" Buku called. Ullu flew down quickly, "Find the Lion Guard and Night Pride quickly tell them its an emergency" Buku ordered sounding very serious. Everyone was worried watching Buku quickly flip Kion over listening to his chest. "Buku what's wrong with Kion!" Makini asked Buku turned facing Nirmala, Makini, Fuli and Rani, "Remember when I talked about spiritual healing" Buku recalled. Everyone nodded listening attentively,  "I fear Kion's spiritual healing is not working" Buku explained. Rani and Fuli look at each other then Buku, "What's happening" They both asked trying to hold tears.

"Kion's injuries affected his spirit, and due to those injuries, his spirit is lost" Buku revealed. "WHAT!" The Lion Guard and Night pride shouted standing behind just arriving and hearing that. Nirmala goes to Kion and helps Buku, "Buku is right, queen Janna told me a few times about how your spirit can get lost and damaged" Nirmala backed up Buku's explanation. Bunga jumps forward, "How do we help Kion?" Bunga asked worriedly. Buku and Nirmala looked at each other then the others, "I don't know?" Nirmala replied. Everyone was shocked but Rani and Fuli looked at Buku, "Buku do you know?" Rani asked quickly. Buku thought to himself thinking if there was a way to help Kion,  "I GOT IT!" Buku shouted as it clicked to his head. "WHAT!!" Rani and Fuli asked back, Buku looked at everyone, "Memories" Buku answered.

"Memories?" Everyone repeated confused, Buku looked at everyone, "It is said to bring back a lost spirit, memories are the key to bring the spirit home" Buku explained. "So what do we have to do exactly," Bunga asked. Buku smiled at everyone, "To bring Kion's spirit home you need to remind the spirit where home is" Buku explained. Fuli and Rani look at each other than the Lion Guard and Night Pride, they all gave nods and sighs of reassuring and support. "How do we start Buku," Fuli asked. "Let me get it ready" Buku added turning around getting something, everyone sat around Kion as Buku took out his staff waving it around Kion, "Come home spirit, follow our words and stories so you can return home" Buku chanted waving his staff around again.

After Buku chanted Kion rolled over and grunted, "Ok now it's your turn" Buku added. "So we just have to remind Kion of the old times," Beshte asked. "Old...New..anything that Kion would treasure or any enjoyable moments in his life" Buku explained. Makini got up first and went to Kion, "Hi Kion it's me Makini, I don't have much to say except thank you, When we first met I was new to the pride lands" Makini started to explain.

Makini P.O.V

I was Rafiki's apprentice he was going to teach me to be a royal Mjuzi, one day while I was trying to understand the pride lands more I overheard a someone so I left to check it out. That's where I first met Kion and heard about how he can talk to Mufasa. I told Kion about how I wanted to be a royal Mjuzi and Kion supported that. Ever since I've been doing my best and I'm glad I met everyone here especially you Kion. I may of known Kion long but by the time I was with him on the adventure here Kion is a very brave soul even when Ushari venom took control Kion tried his best and we were there to help.

When Makini finished she backed up and sat back down, "That was beautiful Makini" Beshte whispered. "Thanks, Beshte" Makini thanked, as everyone looked at Kion he grunted, "Ma...kini" Kion grunted quietly. Everyone's eyes widened, "It's working, we need more" Buku added. Everyone smiled as they all thought about what they were going to say.
