Misha's POV:

While I waited for Mom to return, I dwelled on yesterday's incident, trying to fathom the reasons behind Varun's peculiar behavior. It's undoubtedly tough for him; he must be missing Tanvi. I'm willing to give him time and space, but at least we should have talked. Why did he choose silence?

"Bhabhi, Dadi is calling you," Janvi said, entering.

"Is she really strict?" I asked, a tinge of nervousness in my voice.

"Sometimes," she replied.

"Okay. Do you know why she called?" I asked, my nerves escalating.

"Probably asking about Varun. Tell her that he is getting ready, okay?" She suggested. I nodded and followed her out. The living room, empty when I descended, now buzzed with relatives—Varun's cousins, uncles, and aunts.

"Good morning, beta," Dadi greeted. What's the protocol here? Touch her feet? Yes, I'd do that. But she halted me.

"No, no. It's not necessary. If you really want to show your respect, give me a hug," she suggested, a welcoming smile on her face. Well, that's a pleasant surprise.

"Good morning, Dadi," I said, hugging her.

"Where's Varun?"

If only I knew.

"He is getting ready," I lied, right on the first day!

She then inquired about breakfast and advised me to wait until everyone arrived.

"Till then, I will show you our house," Dadi proposed.

"How about I do it, and you rest?" Janvi interrupted.

"Alright. First, bring me a glass of water," Dadi said.

"I will," I said and headed back to the kitchen. Guilt gnawed at me for lying. I never imagined my first day after marriage would be like this. Why does everything feel so wrong?

I took the glass and was about to fill it when Varun, my love, entered the kitchen, looking as handsome and fresh as always. Should I talk? I want to know the reason behind his ignorance, but let's not start with that.

"Good morning. Do you want something?" I asked, noticing him searching for something.

I awaited his reply, which never came. He simply took a milk bottle, filled it, and left. Perhaps he's feeding Isha, but why did he ignore me again? My eyes welled with tears, but I had to control them, as Mom entered the kitchen.

We both arranged the breakfast on the table, but Varun claimed he wasn't hungry. Why is he doing this? What have I done?

"Varun, come and have your breakfast," Dadi insisted.

"Dadi, please. I don't have an appetite," he said, handing Isha to Janvi.

"Take care of her. I will be back soon," he announced and left. Dadi gestured something to Mom, but I couldn't discern what. Something is really wrong here. I need to talk to Varun as soon as possible.

After everyone finished their breakfast and showered me with compliments, I was relieved that they liked it.

"Thank you for your help," I said to Mom, for which she playfully pulled my right cheek.

"What should I do now?" I asked, genuinely confused about what to do next.

"Nothing. Sit and relax," Mom replied.

"When Varun arrives, inform me. I want to talk to you two," she added before leaving.

"You want some work to do, right?" Janvi asked.

"Yes," I said, and she immediately handed Isha to me.

"Take care of your child," she said, making me smile.

"Now come and sit with us. Everyone is so excited to know more about you," she said, dragging me with her to the room where everyone was sitting. It seemed like an informal interview with Varun's cousins. All the best, Misha.

I entered the room, and everyone looked at me as if they saw an alien. The only person on my side, looking at me with full admiration, was Isha. She kept looking at me with her big dove eyes, as if they were asking me many questions.

"Come, Bhabhi," Janvi said, seating me next to her. She then introduced me to everyone, and luckily, we quickly got mingled. We talked about likes and dislikes and were actually having a great interaction until I heard their next question.

"We heard that you loved Varun bhai since your college days, is it true?"

Omg, they know about it? But how?

"Oh, stop biting nails, both of you," Janvi laughed and removed my hand as well as Isha's. Oops.

"You were not supposed to ask that," she chided her cousins, and they laughed again. I looked at her for an explanation.

"Actually... Parth came to know about it, and he told everyone," Janvi explained, and I literally felt like crying due to embarrassment. Who must have told Parth about it?

"Come on, Bhabhi. It's not a big deal. Don't think too much," Janvi comforted me.

"Yes, Bhabhi. I was just curious and wanted to know how you feel now. That was the only reason I asked this question."

"It's okay," I said, blushing like an idiot.

"Does everyone know about it?" I asked, learning that every single person in this house knows. Great, totally great. What a start to my new life!

"Even Varun," Janvi completed her sentence, and this time I felt like digging myself underground. Wait, is that the reason why he is ignoring me? But why? I love him, and it's not a bad thing, so why would he ignore me? I should better find out. Maybe I should try once more to talk with him.

"Now let's talk about something else," Janvi suggested, redirecting the conversation. Again, I got busy answering the questions thrown at me. Though I was interacting with them, my mind continued to think about ways to talk to Varun.

After some time, I came out of the room and saw Varun talking with Mom. When did he come back? The way they were conversing didn't look comfortable, so I decided not to interrupt. I guess I will have to wait for some more time. I went back to the room and sat down.

"I'll be back," Janvi said and left. I was busy playing with Isha when the conversation outside the room caught my attention. It was Varun's voice, and he was yelling.

"I told you to take care of her. Why is she not with you? Go and bring her here," he said, and within seconds, I saw Janvi standing at the door.

"Sorry," she said and took Isha from me.

What am I supposed to do? Pretend that I never heard their conversation?

After a few minutes, I went out and saw him sitting at the dining table, so I decided to go serve him. However, as I was about to do the same, he got up from his chair and went to his room. God, what is going on here? First, I thought that Varun is ignoring me, but now it feels like it's not ignorance; it's hate. A very serious kind of hate.

What made him hate me?
