"Life's a prison when you're in love alone…" — Usher

Misha's POV:

I left for my parents' home the very next day after Dad's birthday. It was challenging for me to stay there and face Varun every time after all those hurtful things he said to me. I wish he would have let me ask what he wanted me to do instead of saying all those hurtful words. If necessary, I'm ready to give my life for him; leaving him for his happiness is definitely not a big deal for me. Things would have been much better only if he tried to understand me a little.

It has been two weeks since I'm here, in my home, with my people; however, I'm not happy. Neither are my parents! They are worried about me. Despite convincing them many times that everything is okay, they keep on suspecting. Moreover, it's not their mistake; of course, they will be worried to see their daughter staying with them for more than two weeks without her in-laws coming to take her. However, Dad did call me once asking about my health. Deep down, I knew he called to ask when I will return, but then again, he didn't ask anything because he very well knows that his own son doesn't want me in that house. Even Mom called; I ignored her call twice, but then I felt guilty and called her. She asked me about my health and then told me to come back, even though she knew I'm not going to do it. For now, there's only one thing concerning me, and that is the questions asked by my parents!

Anyway, now I really need to get out of here before I get mad because of all these thoughts. It's been so long since I have met any of my friends; forget about meeting, I hadn't talked with them for so long. Everyone is going to kill me once I meet them. Whenever I felt like going out, there were only two people I wanted with me, Karthik and Pranita. So bad that I ignored them for all these days. Lucky enough that Mom called Karthik home to ask me what has happened and why I'm not going back. I didn't tell him anything at that time; however, now it's the time, plus I miss my best friends. I miss going out with them so much.

'Take me out,' I messaged Karthik. I didn't have to wait long for his reply; it was almost immediate.

'Only if you are going to tell me the truth!' his message said. So stubborn.

'Ok. Bring Pranita with you. I miss you both.'

'Finally!!!! Okay, will be there in fifteen minutes.' He texted, and I went to get ready.

As said, he was actually there within fifteen minutes. I came downstairs and saw mom sitting in the living room reading some kind of recipe book. As soon as she saw me coming, she kept the book and faced me.

"Going somewhere?"

"Yes. Just hanging out with Karthik and Pranita." I replied and saw a satisfied grin on her face. Okay, sorry Karthik, sorry Pranita, mom is definitely going to call you after I return home today.

"Have fun," she said as I went out.

I went towards Karthik's car and was going to hop in but stopped immediately when I saw Pranita getting out of it. She immediately came and hugged me.

"I missed you so much." She practically screamed in my ear.

"I missed you more, girl."

"Let's go." She said, and then together we sat inside the car.

"I'm glad you both came." I said once settled.

"She left her date in the middle," Karthik said, making me shocked. Pranita leaving her boyfriend and coming to meet me was more than a miracle.

"I don't believe." I said looking at her.

"Dude, I actually did that. After all, you are more important to me." She said and hugged me again. She is the same Pranita, or am I talking to someone else?

"I'm sorry for that, you should have told me." I said as I felt guilty. It was her special time, unfortunately, I spoiled it.

"Shut up and tell me about yourself." She asked, and I remembered my sadness again. I insisted on telling it later when we reach our favorite coffee shop.

We then talked about work, family, friends, and soon-to-be-done vacations. I knew I'm not going with them on any of the vacations, but I didn't wish to spoil their mood, so I kept saying yes.

After some time, we reached our destination, and both of them asked me to tell what has happened to me even before ordering our coffee.

"Let's order first." I said as they both sighed in irritation. Once everything was done, I told them everything Varun said to me and everything I felt at that moment.

"He doesn't even want to see my face; then how am I going to stay there?" I completed my story, wiping tears from my eyes. I looked at Pranita and saw her crying as well. Karthik wasn't crying, but he looked sad too.

"Hey guys, I'm okay. You don't have to be sad." I tried to console them.

"Why isn't his mom saying anything?" Karthik asked.

"I don't know. Maybe there's a reason or I don't know what it is that's stopping her from telling the truth."

"Haven't you talked with her about this?" Pranita asked, as I shook my head.

"I don't want to. It hurts me to know that she cheated."

"But you should talk, idiot; at least you will come to know the reason." Karthik said, followed by a question.

"What are you going to do next?"

"I don't know. Haven't decided anything. What should I do?" I asked them, and before they could reply, I heard my phone beep. As it was on the table, I saw Janvi's name flashing on the screen.

"Isha's pictures." I said happily and immediately took my phone to see her messages. As expected, there were pictures of Isha. Janvi daily sends her pictures to me. As I looked at them, I saw a picture of Varun trying to make Isha sleep, the most difficult work! Of course, it was a secretly taken picture, but it looked so damn cute. I passed my phone towards Pranita for her to see.

"Wow. She is too cute." She complimented.

"He is looking so happy; do I have to stay away from him forever for his happiness?" I asked as more tears formed in my eyes.

"Please don't cry again." They both said consoling me. After that, we had our coffee and left. Soon, Karthik dropped me near my home.

"Thanks for coming, guys, I feel much relieved now, and I seriously missed you both." I said and was about to open the door, but then I remembered something,

"Karthik." I said making him look at me.

"I missed doing this as well." I said as I ruffled his hair.

"Girl, I hate you." He said adjusting his hair.

"Bye." I said and went out.

As I went inside home, I heard some music playing in my room. Who's there? I looked at mom for an explanation, but before she could say anything, I screamed my sister's name.

"Siddhi?" Mom nodded, and I ran upstairs; I missed her so much. At this moment, she was the one who would tell me what I am supposed to do next. I wanted to tell her everything, but as she was busy with her work, I didn't call her.

I opened the door and saw her busy with her phone. As always!

"God knows how much I missed you." She said as she came and hugged me.

"Before you ask me anything, tell me what has happened to you. Aunty has been so worried for you."

"I know, but I can't tell her everything; it will upset her more." I replied.

"What is it?" She asked, and then I told her everything only after making her promise me that she is not telling mom anything.

"We will find a solution to it; please don't cry." She said with her own eyes in tears.

"You know what, I always considered marrying Varun as a dream; turns out it's just a Nightmare."

"The nightmare you love." She said sadly.

"The Nightmare I love and the Nightmare I will always keep loving."
