It was late in the afternoon.

I lost track of time as Gallade and I continuously trained.

My defense seems to be improving, but not as much as I'd like.

I was at the point of the mountain talking with Absol for my break from training.

Gallade wanted to do some more sculpting in the cave(as if there was anything he hasn't sculpted in the cave yet).

"Hello Damian," Absol greeted cheerfully.

"Hi Absol. How are ya?"

"I am quite grand. Thank you for asking. Yourself?"

"I'm grand too. Just... doing some training with Gallade," I shrugged.

"You fell asleep as we conversed last night. I placed you on your bed."

"Oh yeah! Thanks for that by the way."

"It was no trouble my friend. May I ask though... What have you learned so far in your training?"

I grinned at his question.

"Defense mostly. I'm getting it, but... Y'know? Baby steps..."

"Hmm... You say that as though you are dissatisfied."

I sighed and laughed simultaneously.

"Yeah. I kinda wanna do some attacking. We've only been training for two days now, but I'm already sick of it."

"I am under the impression you do not enjoy monotony?"

"What's that mean?"

"Doing something over and over again."

"Ohh... Like continuous? Yeah. Not really."

"Gallade is correct, though. The quote goes, the greatest offense is a greater defense."

"I think I've heard that one before," I replied smugly.

"Damian!" a very familiar voice called out.

I whirled around to see...

"Swellow! You're... Here!" I laughed.

"Yep. I asked Staraptor where you might be and she told me Absol's Peak, so... Here I am."

I grinned from ear to ear as I saw him stand three feet from me.

"Absol... This is Swellow. The guy who helped me escape."

Absol bowed his head in a greeting.

"It is a pleasure to meet you," said Absol.

Swellow nodded slowly.

"Nice to meet you too."

I was still ecstatic knowing Swellow was there.

"So... How ya holdin' up, Damian?"

"I... Well, I've been training mostly. Nothing too exciting really. I guess."

"Training... becoming one of us hunh? That's awesome man."

"How is everyone?" I asked him.

"They're doing fine. They want you to write a... Message or something in human language so we can give it to your parents."

"Okay! That's an awesome plan! I'll just need a pencil and some paper."

I just noticed Swellow had a satchel strapped to his side.

"Way ahead of ya," he sneered.

"Okay! I'll get writing right away!" I exclaimed.

"Good luck with the message Damian. I'll be here if you require my assistance," Absol offered.
