My eyes fluttered open slowly to reveal a happy sight.
"Damian! You're up! You looked like you were having a bad dream. You okay?" asked Gallade.
"Y-yeah... A horrible dream... I... We were all... Oh my God... It was horrible.." I cried.
"What happened?" Gallade asked sympathetically.
I sighed, thinking of the right words.
"We were all caught by Team Plasma... They... Killed Staraptor... I didn't see you and Absol and everyone else... I thought you were dead... I... I'm so scared..." I sobbed as I lunged toward him for a hug.
He held me and said, "Damian, its alright... You're safe here, you have nothing to-"
I looked into Gallade's unblinking eyes.
He just stopped talking, then fell to his knees.
My heart sunk.
"GALLADE!" I screamed.
He hit the ground with a thud.
Standing in the cave was a Scyther wearing the Team Plasma logo on a scarf around his neck.
"No... Gallade..."
I stared angrily at the assailant.
"You killed him..."
"I'll kill you too if you don't come with me," he scoffed.
"I'm gonna kill you..." I muttered.
"What was that?"
I growled in a passionate fury.
"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"
I went to punch him in the face, but he swiftly dodged it.
I threw everything I could at him.
Flailing my arms hoping to land an attack.
As I noticed I couldn't do this myself, I ran past him, climbed the mountain yelling Absol's name as I did.
I made it to the top and panicked.
"No..."
I pulled myself up and ran to an unconscious, bleeding Absol.
"Absol!" I shrieked.
"Da...Dami...an?" he croaked weakly.
"What happened?!" I sobbed.
"Team... Plas...ma... [Cough] found us... Dam...i...an... You... Ergh! Need to... Run..."
"But Absol... I can't live without you... I-I need you. Please... Don't die. Don't die... Please!" I sobbed as I rested my head into his fur.
"I... Have much... R-respect for... Ergh... You... Go... Continue with... Your... Pl... Plan..."
With a a final breath, Absol closed his eyes, and faded away.
"Absol! Wake up! Please! Don't die!" I screamed.
I continued to cry on Absol's dead body for quite sometime, expecting to be attacked by surprise.
After what may have been an hour, I wiped my eyes of any tears.
"I'll never... Forget you Absol. Thank you for being... My friend..."
'I have to find Staraptor and the others... If they're not dead...'
"Please... Be okay..." I begged the world.
"Damian! Get on my back!" Staraptor's voice brought hope to me.
I would've hugged her, but there just wasn't time for it.
I jumped onto her back without hesitation.
She took off into the air without a word.
"Staraptor... They... They killed G-Gallade... Absol... They..." both Staraptor and I were crying together
"They... Killed Weavile... And... Ampharos... Tree...Treecko..."
The words gave me half a mind to jump off of her back.
"Where's... Swellow?" I asked.
She sobbed even heavier.
"He's... dead.."
"Who's alive?" I asked in panic.
"Just me... And Floatzel..."
"Oh my God... Staraptor... I... This can't be real... Absol and... Gallade... You... This is all my fault... I... Got you involved... I never thought this would happen... I... I'm sorry Staraptor. I love you so much... Goodbye. Thanks for being there for me..." I made a bold move.
I removed my arms from around Staraptor's neck.
"Damian! What're you-"
"Bye Staraptor... I'll miss you..." were my last words as I let myself freefall to my own death.
"DAMIAN! NO!" she screamed.
I closed my eyes and forced a smile.
"I almost did it guys... I couldn't do it though... At least I won't have to see Lewis again."
I struck the ground and my vision went from blank, to pure darkness.
