" listen to your teacher and don't be naughty ."

the woman in her early 30s spoke as she ruffles her son's hair. the boy looked at the entrance and then back to his mother. he tugged the hem of her shirt. anxiety was across his flawless face. and she read him like an open book.

" don't be afraid, I'm sure they are all nice ." she chuckles softly. " I'll fetch you around 1. until then, take care ."

he hesitated, but mustered up his courage and walked to the front door. as he turns back, his mother was in the car, waving at him. he took a deep breathe and entered the kindergarten. as she confirmed her son is inside, she started the engine and left for work.

yuta looked around the kindergarten with a playful pout. some children were running around, happily laughing and having fun. too loud for his likings. then he spotted over a little boy reading a book by himself, sitting against the locker.

bingo! he walks to the boy with his favorite minion plushie in his hand. he sat beside the boy, unsure of what he has to say. the boy seems unbothered by his presence as well.

it's his first day here after moving to korea. he doesn't have any friends yet, since there weren't any kids his age at his neighbourhood. and he's only going to school today after his mother's nth convincing.

however, this lonely little guy seems like the perfect candidate to be his first. I mean, it'll be awkward to just say hi out of nowhere to the running kids. plus, he's a foreigner.

yuta studied his facial. his brown doe eyes that seems so innocent. sharp, well-structured nose. pink, plump lips, probably kissable. fluffy, messy jet black hair. he looks good for a kid.

his eyes trailed to the hardcover book that was on his hands. it was a fairy-tale book, 'the beauty and the beast'. yuta's face lit up. it's his favorite book. maybe he could talk about it.

" cool book. I love that one ." he started in a calm tone. his korean isn't the best yet, but he's learning fast.

" I... I like it, too. but the beast kinda sca—scares me ."

yuta's lips formed an 'oh'. the boy was stuttering and his tone was so slow, he could barely hear him. seems like he's not a local here, too. two similarities already, sweet.

" he can be intimidating. do you like minions, though ?" he asked, showing off his plushie. the boy's face lighten up.

" I love them. they're adorable. I have a minion pillow ." three now.

" really? that's cool! by the way, can we be friends? I'm yuta. from japan. I just moved here. and you are ?"

the japanese boy held out his hands. the latter hesitates, but shook it anyways.

" I'm sicheng... from china. I moved two years ago because of daddy's work. but are you sure you want to be friends with me? other kids say I'm weird. I'm too shy and my parents are strict. nobody wants to be my friend ."

" well, no one approached me because I'm a foreigner. then we can be each other's firsts !" yuta claimed as he grins widely.

sicheng managed a smile. the japanese was, indeed, very cute. his smile lit up the whole classroom. but in the other hand, yuta awed at how adorable sicheng's smile was.

" your korean is good. where did you learnt ?" yuta asked as he laid back on the locker.

" well, my mommy asked the teacher to give me extra private lessons after school. I'm not really confident with it, though. but it's the only language I can use here ."
