The Inu gang were currently sitting around a fire in subdued silence. Inuyasha had taken the 'death' of Kikyo rather hard and hadn't spoken a word to anyone for two days now. Even when Kagome offered him Ramen, the hanyou still wouldn't say anything. Although she wouldn't tell him, she was worried about her crush and her heart ached at the fact that he was hurting and that he still loved Kikyo.

Everyone in the group had somewhat mixed feelings on the situation, but no one dared to speak up. They all just watched the twigs cackle and crack under the intense heat of the fire. Unknown to them, a figure was watching them from a distance. He had a demon aura around him and had a sadistic smile etched on his face.

This figure was Naraku, a spider yokai. He was watching the group from his lair, through Kanna's mirror with a sick smirk on his face. As he watched, a sick plot began to form within his mind. He came to the conclusion that he could increase the hanyou's suffering by taking away his second love. However, merely kidnapping her wouldn't do. Nooo, he wanted to watch the demon dog boy suffer as he watched as the young miko be taken away from him.....permanently. He wanted him to feel helpless as his lover's life perishes at his hands.

"Kagura." He called out. His cold voice seemed to sweep across the hallways like a blanket of cold, dark miasma.

Immediately, the wind mistress appeared before him. "Yes, master." Kagura said with an bitter undertone.

"Listen closely....." Naraku said as he began to tell his plan to the wind demon and tell her what to do. He grinned devilishly as the woman disappeared in a swirl of wind. Now all he had to do was what until his plans came into fruition.

As Naruto trekked across the lands of feudal Japan, he spent little time in the villages he came across. One thing he had learned about this era was that people, especially swordsman, were always ready to pick fights. He also noted that he was in a warring states period, which explained why it wasn't common to see a samurai dallying in the streets. They were always at war.

For food, he preferred to simply hunt and maintain a low profile, although he did stop to a shop once or twice to get dango or a cinnamon bun. He tried his best to maintain an extremely low profile, not wanting to garner any unnecessary attention. If the title Sesshomaru held as 'Taiyokai of the West' was any indication, it was safe to assume that there were at least three others.

While he had no doubt that he could defeat these youkai, he was told not to interfere too much in this realm, a valid order at that. Surely, picking a fight with daiyoukais would be doing the exact opposite of that and would alert the demon realm of the return of the Lord of Demons, information that he wasn't willing to share at the moment.

The red head was currently sitting down amidst the flames of a dying flames of a campfire where he had cooked two rabbits with a serving of good berries he had found in the forests. Beside him, were a pile of clean bones, the only remains of the rabbit he had eaten. He silently stood up and began remove any traces that were of his camp, a skill that Jiraiya had taught him while he had trained. The toad hermit had always said 'Your enemies will always fear you more, if they do not even know you exist'.

He sighed as he continued to clean. "A penny for your thoughts?" a voice said out of nowhere.

Naruto turned around a saw a beautiful white wolf with red markings on her head and small wings. Based off her strong aura, Naruto instantly knew who was speaking to him. "Obaachan" Naruto greeted with a bow.
