Naruto silently sat in the trees, looking at the view before him. In front of him, was a beautiful waterfall who's flowing waters created a harmonic melody with the sounds of the forests that floated through the night air. The moon shine danced upon the calm waters of the lake beneath the water fall. The mist of the plunge pool, enhancing the scent and energy of the nature around him.
The sight was so serene. It's mere sound, a sweet because that could lullaby anyone into a soothing slumber. A sight such as this would normally bring a sense of peace for someone, yet for him, it only filled him with memories. Both painful and yearning in nature.
When he first stumbled into the place, was moving along through the trees of the dense forests, hunting food he could bring back to the camp. He was silently making his way through the trees when they suddenly parted, revealing the beautiful sight before him. The red head couldn't help, but take the time to marvel at the view. Deciding to take a break from his hunt, he sat in a tall tree and just took in the sight.
After a couple of minutes of admiring nature's beauty, the former ninja sighed. Just looking at the view, reminded him of her. He remembered the little cave they had found in the backwoods of Konoha. They didn't know what was in it at first, but with a little encouragement from the ever so hyper, Naruto, he was able to convince the Hyuga to go inside with him.
At first it was dark and silent. It gave Naruto the creeps just standing in there like that. However, as they walked further into the cave, they started to here the sound of rushing water. When they got to the end, the 6 year olds gasped at the view. It was unlike anything either of them had seen before. Before them, was a beautiful waterfall, much like the one Naruto was admiring now.

Surrounding it, were trees of different sorts and green grass with flower patches, sparsely populating it. There was a small lake were the waterfall met earth's surface and rocks along the edges of the bank. Since they found it, it quickly became one of their places to just get away and hang out. Sometimes when Hinata couldn't come, he would just go there by himself to think.
Naruto chuckled. It was also the first place when he started to notice her. He remembered how pretty she was under the moonlight's glow and how her lavender eyes seemed to compliment the scenery of the night. It was first time he had seen her as more than pretty. She was absolutely beautiful.
At such a tender age, he didn't understand the feelings he was feeling. How seeing Hinata would always brighten his day. How hearing her laugh at his silliness brought a smile to his face. How being close to her would always make him feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. How her mere presence would sooth his soul.
It wasn't until his older years, after her passing that he realized what those feelings were. They were growing feelings of love. He felt like a part of his heart was taken from him when they killed her. Like a part of himself left with her. Once the Hokage's seal was underdone, he had went into a state of deep depression. He felt hollow, something an 8 year old shouldn't have been feeling at such a young age. He probably would have died if it weren't for the words and presence of his father.
