Chapter 52 - The Lord of the West

Naruto just stared at the demon lord with a bored expression. In truth, facing the demon lord was not exactly on Naruto's to-do list. He had to admit that the Taiyokai was indeed powerful. He had a sharp mind and could be dangerous when need be. However, the red head really didn't have time to deal with his superiority complex. While Sesshomaru maybe have been strong, his power paled compared to Naruto's true power. With that being said, Naruto also wasn't one to take his opponents lightly. Anybody can be defeated with the proper tools, after all.

Sesshomaru watched at the human stood there idly. There was a lazy and nonchalant expression in his body language, something that the demon lord didn't like one bit. He was honestly a little surprise that the nigen could sense him, not that he was trying to hide his presence. He still could not see his face, being that he still wore the same large at he wore that night.

It honestly baffled him, that even so close the nigen, he could only faintly detect the underlying power he had. However, the demon lord had lived many years and was no fool. This human that impassively stood in front of him, even if he wasn't as powerful as he, possessed skill that was a complete mystery to him that provided him a definite edge.

Naruto narrowed his eyes as he saw the demon's only arm, grasp the hilt of the Tokijin. Suddenly, he rushed toward him, his after images trailing behind. To anyone else, he would have been a blur, but Naruto's sharps kept up with him perfectly. Naruto swiftly brought out his reverse blade to block the attack. The clash of their swords made a resounding clang. Naruto's eyes widened when he felt yokai energy pulse through the sword, glowing a fierce blue before the energy exploded forth.

Knowing he wasn't going to be able to escape the alleged 'Dragon Blast', an attack that could match Inuyasha's 'Wind Scar', Naruto wrapped himself in his cloak as the blast sent him flying back. The red head groaned as he crashed into the ground. 'Damn prick....' Naruto grumbled as he began to stand. His clothes were smoking and his hat was destroyed, revealing his long red hair and heterchromic eyes. Naruto made a shadow clone under the screen of debris. He need to nip this in a bud. He was not going to fight this yokai.

When the smoke cleared, Sesshomaru saw the man get off the ground. His clothes were smoking and the hat he usually wore was now destroyed. He could now see his long, red hair and weird colored eyes. A black mask covered the rest of his face and his bo staff was gone, more than likely destroyed. He saw the man narrow his red and blue eyes at him before disappearing in a burst of speed, causing the demon lord's eyes to slightly widen in shock.

"Ranton: Laser Circus" Sesshomaru heard before sharp pains began to overtake his body.

With a howl, the demon yokai fell to his feet as beams of bright white lightning consumed his body and struck him at different points of his body. As he fell, Naruto's clone landed in front of him and began to run through hand signs that not even Sesshomaru's eyes could keep up with.

"Yoton: Rubber Encasement" the clone said as a large glob of lava spilled from his mouth and quickly solidified Sesshomaru onto the ground. For good measure, Naruto's clone used earth release to create a coffin-like structure around the yokai.

Sesshomaru growled in frustration as he quickly recovered from the blasts of lighting and was now pinned to the ground. He saw the red head man appear in front of him and a swirl of leaves. His red and blue eyes were cold and stoic as he looked down at the demon. Naruto saw the lord's eyes turn red in anger, an indication of his beast coming out. Unmoved by this, Naruto began to speak for the first time since the taiyokai arrived.

"Well now, you're in quite the peculiar situation, aren't we, Lord Sesshomaru?" Naruto said nonchalantly.

Sesshomaru growled lowly at this. "What is this, human." he demanded angrily.
