Kagome could only describe dinner in one word. Awkward. Everyone openly stared at the red-head as they sat at the table. Naruto noticed that they had set aside another plate for him to eat. He raised an eyebrow at them. When he had asked about it, they replied, saying that 'Grandpa' (whoever the hell that was), was on a short trip in another town, that was about five hours away. They said that he wouldn't be returning until early tomorrow.

Now, Naruto wasn't dumb by a long shot. He knew that there just using that as an excuse to give him another plate and see what was under his mask. Deciding to give in to their insistence, Naruto went to eat he second serving of eel. Everyone watched with a baited breath as the red head went to remove his mask.

Unnoticed by them, Naruto smirked before an inexplicable blackout occurred, casting the room into complete darkness. Naruo quickly devoured his food as he cast his genjutsu. When the lights flickered back on, they looked to see that Naruto had finished his meal and had his hands in a prayer position.

"Itadakimasu." Naruto said with a short bow, before retiring from the table.

Everyone openly gawked at him as he stood from the table. Naruto chuckled as he left the room full of unsatisfied diners. As he walked up stairs, he heard them discreetly grumble to themselves before eating the rest of their meal in silence. Deciding to take a shower, Naruto made at right as he made his way to the top of the stairs and went to the guest bathroom.

He sighed as the hot water hit his bare skin. Since he had arrived in the feudal period (as he came to know), he hadn't been able to take a decent, hot bath. Sure he could have created one, using a fire jutsu, but he didn't want to reveal any of his skills yet. Out of curiosity, he looked at the product rack that hung on the shower head. He saw conditioner, shampoo, and body washes. He looked at one of the conditioners and red its contents.

"Hn." he remarked as he put the conditioner back. The red usually made his own conditioner back home in Konoha. He honestly thought that it was better made natural then 'scientifically'.

Once he was done showering, he dried his hair and body before putting his face mask back on. After dressed in some old clothes of Kagome's father, that Ms. Higurashi had laid out for him, he exited the bathroom and made his way to Kagome's room. When he entered the room, he found Kagome sitting at her desk, reading a book.

"And what would that be?" he said as he smoothly walked in. It was times like these that he thanked god for storage seals. They really came in handy when he needed to tuck something away.

"Modern physics?" Kagome replied, not taking her eyes off of the book. "I have a test tomorrow and if I don't pass, I might have to make-up the whole year."

"I see." Naruto replied in understanding. After all, he did 'fail' the genin exams thrice. He definitely understood the reason for not wanting to repeat a school year.

Naruto stared at the raven-haired girl for a moment before walking over to a history book that caught his eye. He then sat on the sheets that had been laid out on the floor for him to sleep on.

"It must be tough. Having to keep up with two lives, that is." Naruto said as he opened his book. Who was he kidding? The red head knew it was though. After all, he lived a double life himself for most of his life. He was aware of how exhausting and bothersome it could be.

Kagome sighed in what appeared to exhaustion. "It is." she admitted. "But I have a responsibility. I broke the jewel in the first place, so it's my job to fix it and put it back together."

Naruto nodded to her. "Admirable." he praised.

A slight blush crept upon her face at his praise. She turned to him with a smile. "Thanks" she said.
