The soft sound of chuckling could be heard as Naruto and Sango walked down a worn dirt path that led to the demon slayers village. They had been traveling for three days now since they departed from the others. At first, the demon slayer was apprehensive about traveling with him, since she was still holding a grudge over stopping her actions the other night. However, after talking to Kirara, she decided to let it go and forgive him, although she was reluctant about it.

Over the past three days, Sango had been talking with the red head, trying to get to know him a little better. She quickly realized that he had a very playful side of him, which was seen whenever he dealt with Inuyasha. She also noticed that he still danced around her questions when asking him about his past. She also found out that there were moments that enjoyed silence and preferred not to talk about anything. All in all, the red head was basically a closed book.

Currently, the demon slayer was telling the red head about some of the adventures the Inutachi went on. While Naruto wasn't surprised by a good percentage of it, seeing the percentage of when Midoriko requested his help, he had to admit that he was impressed at some of the daiyokai they had taken out during their quests. He quickly learned that in this world, daiyokai were the most powerful yokai in existence. However, based on the experience and memories he gained from his father, they would be ranked as ekana or ayakashi (higher demon in celestial terms).

"And then Shippo dumped the entire bottle of salt in Inuyasha's eyes. It was hilarious seeing Inuyasha screaming his head off as he ran around like a lunatic." Sango said with a joyous laugh.

Naruto chuckled silently as Kirara purred in amusement from her perch on Naruto's shoulder. The demon slayer always wondered about that. The nekomata had easily taken to the former ninja since they first met, something that was not usual for her friend. She wondered what it was about the man that gravitated the cat to him.

Their comfortable silence was soon shattered as embarked over the next hill and the remains of the slayers village came into the view. Naruto watched as Sango's eyes immediately clouded with sadness and grief as her form slightly slumped. His eyes soften at the sight. He, too, felt the slight feeling of nostalgia as he gazed upon the village. It was all too familiar.

It was the destruction of war. Just because he managed to end a 4th Ninja War didn't mean people didn't suffer. Smaller nations always suffered at the expense of the 5 great ninja villages. Small villages were destroyed in the crossfire. When Kabuto reanimated the powerful shinobi of old, he laid waste to many homes and ended the lives of many people.

In those 3 months of war, the only thing Naruto knew was death, pain, hatred, and destruction. When he was finally able to locate Kabuto end the resurrection of Madara, he hunted down the rest of the remaining Atatsuki, one by one. His last open was Obito. He was able to stop him before he could resurrect his grandfather. After ending Obito, he established a new mindscape in which he could communicate with all the Tailed Beasts.

Of course, the peace was short lived when Sasuke began work with Orochimaru. He took advantage of the weak times and used it to build an army for himself. The Great Nations demanded their respective jinchuriki's back (some having established new holders) and a struggle for balance began. When Naruto left the Elemental Nation, things were just settling down, with his help of course. The freed tailed beast were allow to settle or sealed into another container. Of course, most chose the former.

He sighed at the memory of the memories of the battlefield. Seeing the burning remanants of villages and comrades alike. Nothing more than smoke and ashes, dying at the hands of reanimations. The charred remains of the innocent that ranged from children to the elderly. Those were sad sightings. Something didn't wish for those behind him to see, which is why he had no choice but to end the war.
