It had been nearly two weeks since Naruto and the Inu gang had left Kaede's village. Since then, they had been attack by Kagura and a horde of demon, sent by Naraku. Kagura had been captured by the group and healed by Naruto. Naruto had been attacked by Naraku's puppet. And currently, they were facing another set of yokai. They could never catch a break.

"HIRAIKOTSU!" Sango yelled as she hurled her large boomerang at the large bear yokai that was attacking them.

The yokai howled in pain as the massive weapon cut through flesh and bone, severing his left arm. In rage, the massive bear charged at the Tajiya. The large boomerang soared back through the air just in time for her to use it as a shield against the yokai's swipe at her. Even though the Hiraikotsu took the brunt of the attack, Sango was still sent flying back at the impact of its assault. Her back hit a tree trunk with a painful thud, causing the Tajiya to release a hiss in pain.

Sango groaned as she looked back at the bear with a glare. The bear growled before running towards her, preparing to take another swipe at her. Just as his claws were coming down towards her, a red clad figure appeared in front of her and blocked it. This figure was no one other than Inuyasha. With a battle cry, the hanyou leapt at the yokai with his sword and the demon's last arm was severed at the swipe of the Tetsusaiga.

This caused the bear yokai to howl again before it was silenced by an arrow to the chest. Bathed in holy purification, another arrow flew through the air and embedded itself, square in its forehead, causing him to disintegrate into mere ash.

"Keh" Inuyasha scoffed as he hefted his sword onto his shoulder. "This is ridiculous. These guys are hardly becoming a decent challenge, even with the shards!" he complained.

"That is the testament of skill with proper training." Naruto commented as jumped down from the tree.

He landed on the ground, gracefully beside Miroku and Kagura, who were staying out of the way of the battle. Naruto and Miroku began to make their way into the clearing with Kagura following closely behind him. She had long since recovered from her injuries thanks to Naruto. By the third day, since her capture, she was granted full mobility, something that shocked her considering the fatality of her wounds. She asked him how and he answered with something about magic. Knowing he probably wasn't going to spill, she let it go.

Since Kagura been with the group, their veiled suspicion eased into mild unease in her presence. A major difference in attitude from the disdainful regard they held her in two weeks ago. The wind yokai couldn't help, but feel useless. Most of the time, when they fought other yokai, she would just hang back with Naruto, observing the proceedings. She often wondered why the odd human would never fight with the other demons and would just watch as the others took care of them. When she would watch him observe their fights, his face was expressionless and unreadable, giving her no hints of what he was thinking.

Kagura also missed the action. Without her fan, she held no power over the winds, leaving her defenseless. They were supposed to be finding her another fan, but the task was easier said than done. There were few fans that could harness and focus a demon's yokai. Only demon made fans were capable of this control and those were extremely rare. The demoness was cut out of her musings when she heard the Tajiya grunt.

Sango grunted as she picked herself up off the ground. 'That hurt like a bitch....' she said inwardly as she tried to recover from being slung into the tree. When she went to look at her weapon, she groaned. There was now a crack at the tailing wing of the Hiraikotsu.

"Dammit." she cursed under her breath.

Hearing her curse, Inuyasha turned to her as he sheathed his blade. "What the hell is your problem?" he said gruffly.
