The tornado of blue fire began to grow, spreading across the landscape and destroying anything in its path. The Inutachi's eyes widened as the blue fire began to head towards them. Even Sesshomaru's eyes widened a little as he became alert and aware of the danger. He turned to the Inutachi who were still in shock of what was heading toward them.

"The sky. Get out of here." he ordered, snapping them out of their stupor.

He quickly grabbed Kagome, holding her close as he began to ascend into the air. Kagura grabbed her feather and began to allow the winds to carry her up into the sky. Fire charged at Kirara feet as she grabbed Sango and took to the skies. They barely made it in time as the boiling flames of the blue inferno overtook the lands in which they once stood.

"Wait! Where's Shippo!?" Kagome cried out as they continued to ascend into the air.

Sango and Kagura's eyes seemed to widen at the mention of the young kitsune's name. The looked onto the ground and saw that the forest was no more. It now looked like a lake of blue fire, consuming the very grounds that burned beneath. The only things that went untouched was the bone eater's well and the Goshinboku tree, who had rings of fire around it. Kagura stared at the sight before her. She had never seen anything so destructive yet beautiful. She didn't miss the golden chains that seemed to form some type of barrier over the village which brought about a whole other set of questions.

The smell of salt hit Sesshomaru's nose as he stared at the sight before him impassively. He turned to the woman that clinging to him to find that she was crying into his kimono. Sesshomaru suppressed a grow at this. It was uncommon for someone to invade his personal space in such a way and survive, let alone a human. But here she was, wetting his fine silks in human tears. He would have put her down, however, he couldn't do to the deadly fire that burned beneath their feet.

He just stared at the crying miko. She was undoubtedly crying for the little fox kit, however, this made him raise an eyebrow. Why would a human, a miko at that, take in a yokai child and mother him. The little miko confused him to no end. He continued to stare at her, his eyes still icy. As he watched her cry, a new feeling emerged from within him. It was as he were sad for her.

'Does this Sesshomaru pity this human?' he said to himself before frowned and regarded himself with disgust.

Why would he? Human were nothing but weak disgusting creatures who even incompotent taking care of their ownselves. He would never stoop so low as to care for one. But why did he feel this way when he heard her cry? Why did a pang of guilty caress his conscious? His brows furrowed a little before he turned back to the lake of fire. His sharp eyes landed on the figure that stood in its mist. His body remained untouched as he appeared from what looked like a dip in the ground. Or was one at least.

He became a little irritated at the salty scent that continued to hit his noise. He turned to the miko whose face was still buried in his kimono and offered a small scowl. He turned back to look a man in the fire. Subconsciously, he wrapped his tail around Kagome in a lightly comforting way, causing the miko to suddenly stop. She lifted her teary eyes and gazed upon the demon in surprise, confusion, and lastly, curiosity. Sesshomaru ignored her and continued to watch the object of his attentions.

Naruto released a gust of wind, killing the burning blue flames. The land was nothing but scorched earth, the only thing surviving was the old Goshinboku tree and bone eater's well. Naruto looked toward the village and saw that his chakra chain barrier was still up and holding which he nodded at. He knew his clone would be dispelling soon though, so he had to hasten his work.
