Chapter 6

Maurice and Joanne had brought Beau back to the house from their walk on the beach and hearing the music playing, Maurice exclaimed, "What's this, some sort of dance party and you didn't wait for the best dancer in the family to show up before you started?"

Joanne smacked him lightly on the arm and retorted, "I suppose you're referring to yourself? You are kidding, right? You know I make you look good whenever we're on the dance floor."

With that, Maurice took her right hand and spun her out and back to him and then grabbed on to her waist and danced her around the room to"Heatwave".  Beau wanted to join in the fun, so he grabbed Chloe by her hand and jumped around giggling as she danced with him. She spun him once and he kept laughing, saying, "Spin me again Chloe! Spin me again!"

After two more songs Chloe collapsed on the couch, blew a wisp of hair off her face and exclaimed, "You wear me out kid! How can you still have so much energy this late in the day?"

Beau shrugged, "I'm just happy I guess! Aren't you happy Chloe?"

"Sure, I'm happy and having a good time, but ya gotta let me rest a minute ok buddy?" she replied with a smile as she pushed his bangs back off his forehead.

He nodded and ran over to his mom and dad, who picked him up and danced around the room with him as he laughed and steadily got dizzy. Michelle kissed him because he was so cute and she loved to hear her baby laugh, just from his sheer joy of being a kid. When the song was over, Robert set him down and he ran off to his grandma to dance with her as the next song came on.

Just then, Michelle remembered that she was supposed to check with Robert about going to the game next week with Jane and Liam so she could let Jane know if it was a go or not.

"Hey hun, I talked to Janie this afternoon while you were gone and she said Liam got four seats to the Sox game next Friday from some guy he works with. She asked if we wanted to go and do a couples' night kind of thing. I told her I'd ask you when you got back from crabbing, but I completely forgot about it until now. So what do you think? I mean, I know you haven't been to a game for a couple of months, so I thought you might want to go."

Robert pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked at his calendar. "Yeah, that works. I don't have any kind of meetings or appointments to deal with that day, which means I'll get home early, so it sounds like a great idea. Tell her we're on for next Friday for sure. Besides, I have my best girl to go with me. We haven't been on a date, double or otherwise, for months. I mean who knows, I could spring for a couple of hotdogs and few beers to get her buzzed and I might get lucky afterwards," he said with a smirk as she pinched his abs in response.

She gave him a smirk back as she looked up at him and batted her lashes playfully. "Who knows Mr. Stevenson? You might just get lucky tonight and you won't even have to get me buzzed on a few beers. I've been known to be easy."

He laughed quietly and whispered in her ear, "Do not say shit like that to me in front of your family. You give me a boner just thinking about the things I have in mind for you later."
