Shawn reached across the seat to rub the back of Michelle's head soothingly as she drove. "How you feeling Chelle? Everything is done at the house now."

"I'm ok I guess. I'm glad I got Robert's closet cleaned out and the rest of Beau's things taken care of. Now all I have to do is sign the three month realtor contract with Jane and of course get this stuff up to Gran's attic, then that's it until the house gets sold. I just hope whomever it is that buys the house, buys the furniture that's left also. That stuff isn't that old, maybe like two or three years. I'd rather the purchaser buy the furniture than having to figure out what to do with it. I just don't want to return to the house. Today needed to be the last day I'm ever there. I said goodbye to the house and the life I lived there and now it's time to move on to a new chapter in life and maybe someday a new home."

"I understand. You want to close that chapter and the house was part of it."

"Right, but who knows how long it will take to sell the house? What if it's months and by that time I'm in the middle of starting my Masters? I won't have time to deal with the furniture."

"Honestly Chelle, I don't think it'll be on the market long. It's a beautiful home and you kept the integrity of it even with the updates. Your talents as a design architect are obvious when you look at that house and the furniture fits with the design, so it could be a selling point that it comes already partially furnished."

"Thanks Shawn, you're too kind," she grinned.

"I'm just stating facts," he grinned back at her.

"So, you're finally going to meet my Gran! She's gonna love you!" Michelle said enthusiastically as she reached over and patted him on his thigh.

"Really, and why's that?" Shawn smiled, wondering where this was going.

"Well, she may be 89 years old and what some would refer to as a typical prim and proper genteel Bostonian lady, but let's just say Gran still has an eye for a handsome man when she sees one and she's not afraid to point them out to me or Chloe. You're just her type Sparky, devastatingly handsome with a wicked sense of humor."

"You think I'm devastatingly handsome?" Shawn asked, looking smug.

"I said Gran will think that," Michelle grinned, pushing Shawn's buttons again.

"I'd like to know what you think."

"What I think?"

"Yeah, that's the question," Shawn looked over at her.

"Heh, you're aight," she giggled, using his own slang word from the previous night.

"Really. You think I'm just aight?" he questioned with a sarcastic tone.

"You're definitely cute, so you'll do," she replied, suppressing a giggle.

"I gotta admit, I'm feeling a little under-appreciated over here."
