Chapter 58

"Mama do you want to go shopping with Chloe and me after lunch? She has a couple of classes this morning and then she's done for the day, so we're probably going to go around 1:00," Michelle asked her mother as they finished eating breakfast on Monday morning.

"Let me see how much I get done with my calls to the vendors and furniture companies I'm in contact with for my biggest client and I also have a conference call at 10:00 I need to be on. If I get all of that taken care of this morning I might go, unless you want just some girl time with Chloe."

"No mama I want you to go...I mean if you can take the time. I want to spend some girl time with you too, not just Chloe. But I don't think Aunt Bernice is going, so is that ok with you?"

"Sure sweetheart, that's fine. Alright, let me get things settled with the vendors and my conference call and once I get everything taken care of I'm yours for the day," Joanne replied.

"Ok mama, I'm gonna go for a run down along the trails by the creek and maybe up through the woods behind the house, then I can take a shower and get ready when I come back," Michelle said as she got her running shoes on and went outside to stretch before she took off on her morning run.

"Well be careful running down there and take your phone just in case. Love you dear!" Joanne called as he walked back to her home office.

Michelle stretched and breathed in the cool, damp spring air as she took off running down along the backyard toward the creek where there was a path all the way for a good half mile or so before she reached the wooded area. As she ran up the smaller inclines she slipped in the dead leaves and mud that were there from the spring rains that had been making a frequent appearance for the last few days. She fell on her left knee and got mud all over her leggings, but at least she didn't hurt her leg on any tree roots, so she kept running. As she ran through the woods to get to the other side, she came out on the path leading up to her house and walked in the back door, kicking off her muddy running shoes and stripping off her leggings, throwing them in the laundry room sink to wash before she left on Wednesday. She walked through the family room and ran upstairs to get in the shower, turning the water to the temperature she wanted, but heard her phone ringing in the pocket of the hoodie she'd just stripped off, so walked in the bedroom to retrieve it. She saw it was Shawn so she turned off the water, wrapped a towel around her body and answered the FaceTime call.

"Morning babe! You're up already?" she asked.

"Yeah, I woke up about 30 minutes ago, but haven't really gotten out of bed yet. Whatcha doin' with that towel wrapped around your hot body honey?" he asked, wiggling his brow.

"I went for a run this morning and got a little muddy out in the woods, so I came back to take a shower so I can get ready to go shopping later," she grinned.

"Hmmm, if I was there I'd get you squeaky clean, maybe throw in one of those scalp massages you're so fond of, after that all bets are off."

"Hmmm, well if you were here and did all that, you'd certainly be richly rewarded. I mean if you'd be up for that sort of thing," she replied, giving him a sexy smirk.
