Michelle woke up before her alarm went off, so she quietly got out of bed and went to the bathroom, washed her face and put on her makeup, then straightened her hair. She wanted Shawn to get as much sleep as possible, so she had no intention of waking him up.

After finishing in the bathroom, she peeked out the bathroom door to see he was still sound asleep, so she tiptoed through the bedroom and shut the bedroom door quietly before making her way to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee and toast two Pop Tarts. She didn't care how much Shawn made fun of her love for strawberry Pop Tarts, she still ate them. As she sat at the table drinking her coffee and eating, she went through her emails and checked online to make a reservation at a hotel in downtown Toronto for a few days.

She hadn't told Shawn yet, because at first they agreed to flip a coin to see which one would fly to see the other, but she decided that when they flew up to Canada to see their families, she was planning on taking the Porter Airlines commuter flight from Montreal to Toronto instead of having him fly to Montreal. This was for two reasons, one, she would see her parents again at graduation, but he most likely would not see his again until Christmas so she wanted him to be with them for the entire week, and secondly he had just started getting well from the infection and he needed to rest and just relax at home instead of traveling to Montreal.

She'd decided to book a beautiful hotel room, so that if they were out exploring in the city they could stay at the hotel and not have to worry about driving back to Pickering. They also would be free to explore each other the way they wanted to in the privacy of a Toronto hotel room, an idea that made her smile to herself. Besides that, she didn't want Shawn to think his family was supposed to have her as a house guest when she wasn't even sure exactly what or how much they knew about her and Shawn's new relationship. The thought of what his family might or might not know, prompted her to think about how she was going to broach the subject with her own parents once she got home. She thought maybe she'd talk to Gran or Stefan to see if they had already said anything about her and Shawn to her parents, so she could figure out how to proceed.

Once she was finished with her coffee and emails, she gathered up all of her papers and notebooks and put them in her bookbag along with her laptop to take with her. Today she was going to head over to Brown's campus and do some very specific research at one of their oldest and smaller libraries, the John Carter Brown Library, that was dedicated to the advanced research and study of history with a myriad of primary historical sources, some dating back to before 1825. Knowing specifically what she was looking for was helpful so that the librarian could locate the things for her, instead of having to waste time browsing the catalogs. Michelle had researched the catalogs online the day before while staying home with Shawn, so today she knew exactly what she needed and had written everything  down to save time.

She was about to go back to her walk-in closet to quietly get dressed when she heard Shawn get up and go to the bathroom. She got up from the table to make him some coffee and soon enough he came out of the bedroom, looking better than he did 24 hours ago in spite of his messy bed hair. But who was she kidding, she loved his messy bed hair, especially when coupled with his raspy morning voice.
