As he gently held her face and looked into her eyes, the tears that had threatened to spill during that entire speech, began to slide down her cheeks. She had no idea he felt like this about her all this time. Her heart was so full it nearly explode...

After arriving home from their whirlwind trip to Portugal, Shawn and Michelle had another week and a half of classes before wrapping up winter session, which was used for finishing up all the written work, travel journals and culminating projects for submission for final grades before spring session began. Michelle had been diligent in getting her travel journal completed every day of their trip, so she didn't have anything more to do other than to add and color a few more sketches that went along with it. There were also some photos and a few watercolors she had put into an online captioned portfolio which she was including, to go along with her written journal. She also needed to type a final paper, giving her thoughts on how she would be able to incorporate what she had learned from other students and the professionals she had met, as well as the collaboration at FABLAB, into future projects. Since writing papers came easily for her, she knocked it out in a couple of days and then submitted everything at once so she could kick back and relax, other than working a shift here and there at the bookstore.
Shawn still had to complete the entries for the last few days of his travel journal, mostly due to the fact he had spent so much time over at the FABLAB studio on his group project, he had neglected to finish it before leaving Portugal. He also had to add the last footage to his video that included a few conversations he'd recorded with his extended family as they spoke about living in Portugal in general and Lagos in particular. He tweaked it a little more by adding other footage he'd taken when he'd interviewed some of the Portuguese students he'd befriended and photos that he'd taken during the side trip to Lagos, before he felt satisfied with the final edit. He wanted Michelle's opinion before he submitted it and when he showed it to her, she loved the finished product, so he didn't do anything else except add a couple of graphics.
The last thing he was going to construct was a small scaled version of the pedestrian lift bridge that was located in the Lagos marina to go with part of the extra footage he had taken while visiting there. The bridge was used for pedestrian traffic but had a section close to one end that split and lifted when boats with tall masts needed to sail in and out of the marina. After completing the model in one day, he turned everything in for his final grades and was finished with classwork until spring session classes resumed a few days after Valentine's Day.
Michelle had resumed her part time work hours at Symposium and since she was still on a high from her trip, she'd made a new window display showcasing travel books about Portugal and other warm weather destinations around the globe, for readers who were dreaming of getting away from the cold and snowy weather of Providence, which Jonah loved and praised her for thinking of it. She also had made a new children's book display for Dr. Seuss, since Read Across America was coming up in a few weeks on March 2 to celebrate his birthday, not to mention Dr. Seuss had always been a favorite of hers and of Beau. Over in the adult sections, she had made two displays for Valentine's Day, one for classic romantic literature and poetry and one for more modern writing, for those readers with a penchant for steamy romance material. She called the two displays Love and Lust and Jonah got a kick out of it.
