Chapter 15 - Priorities

Jema finally called me after lunch na. She got an appointment with the doctor this coming Friday morning.

Then I remember that we have a staff meeting on Friday mornings. Talagang nagkasabay pa but it's okay, I can afford to skip that naman. Jia and Michelle can handle the meeting during my absence.

That's good, you should know your main priorities, Wong.

Tumayo ako at lumabas ng office. I went to Kyla's desk.

"Kyla, I will be off this Friday pala, Jema and I need to go somewhere eh." sabi ko sa kanya.

"Ay ganun po ba boss? Paano ba yan, I already set your appointment with Mr. Delos Santos on Friday at 2pm. Do you want me to cancel or move it?" sagot nya habang nakatingin sa calendar.

"Meeting with Mr. Delos Santos? Wala yata akong matandaan about that. Hindi mo na naman ako sinabihan agad." I said to her.

"Boss, I informed you kaya this morning and you told me to set it on Friday dahil nga yun lang ang available time mo this week. I can reset it on Monday if you want." sabi nya.

Oh, I forgot about that meeting nga pala. Kanina lang naman kasi sinabi Kyla, hahaha. I'm getting so forgetful na yata huh. But I'm only 28.

So young but so forgetful, Wong.

"No, it's okay lang naman. Since morning lang naman yung lakad namin ni Jema. I think pwede pa isingit on Friday but please move it at 4pm instead of 2pm." sagot ko.

I can't reset it na baka urgent yung business na dala ni Mr. Delos Santos, sayang din yun.

"Yes, boss. Tatawagan ko uli yung secretary nya." Kyla said.

"Thank you, Kyla." I replied bago bumalik ng office ko.

I continued what I was doing, review all proposed business ads to our clients. We need to present it this week na. Bale tatlo lahat ito that needs to be done. Kaya occupied na ang Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday namin.

I was so engrossed with what I'm doing nang mag connect ng tawag sa akin si Kyla.

"Boss, you got a call at line 2, Ms. Amber Castro ng Bench." she said.

Bago pa ako makasagot, she already put the phone down. Hindi man lang ako tinanong kung free ako to take the call. Minsan may pagka malilimutin din itong si Kyla eh.

Nonetheless, ano kaya ang gusto ni Amber?

Eh may business transaction sya sa inyo so malamang tungkol ito dito.

"Hello, Deanna Wong, speaking." I said as I answered the call.

Medyo seryoso ako sa pagsagot para alam nya na I mean business talaga.

"Hello too, Deanna. This is Amber." she replied. "

"Hi, what can I do for you Ms. Castro?" I asked.

"Hey, ang formal naman masyado, parang hindi tayo nagkasama last weekend ah. Just call me Amber." she said.

Bakit bigla yatang naging malambing ang boses, nya?

"Ohhh, ohhh, hmmmn, okay Ms. Amber Castro. May itatanong ka ba about sa ads?" sabi ko naman.

Buti naman at business mood ka pa rin, Wong.

"Yes, it's about the ads that you're making. Can you present it to our big bosses this week?" she asked.

"What? I told you we can finish that within two weeks, medyo rush naman pag one week baka mag suffer yung quality nito." medyo mabilis na sagot ko.
