Chapter 38 - The Connection

I'm in the study room right now, checking my emails.  First day of working from home.  Let's see what's happening today.  Sana naman may good news.

Katatapos lang namin mag lunch and yes, nagluto ng paborito kong ulam si Manang, nilaga.  Labs na labs talaga ako, hehe. Ang dami ko tuloy nakain.  Mukhang ibinilin ako ni Jema sa kanya.

Joaquin is having his nap upstairs.   Good boy ang baby namin kaya eto naka break kami ni Manang sa kanya.  Kanina kasi ay pinaliguan namin sya kaya ang daling patulugin dahil napreskuhan.  

He is now super likot.  Ayaw ngang huminto sa kasisipa sa tubig.   At umiyak pa nung inalis na namin sa baby bath tub.  Enjoy na enjoy sya sa tubig, mukhang maging swimmer ang bunso namin ah.

Wow, sana nga athletic, Wong.

I will support him all the way pag ito ang maging hobby nya.  Malay natin, maging magaling na swimmer sya at madiskubre.  Di mas mabuti haha.

I'm trying to imagine him na tuloy competing sa mga swimming competition in the country tapos sa Olympics.

Huh, sobrang advance naman, Wong.

Okay, back to work na.   Napatingin ako sa inbox.  There's quite a few emails but I started opening those from our existing clients. I was enthusiastic at first but then I started getting agitated.

Puro cancelation lang naman ang laman ng mga e-mails.  Parang ayaw ko na tuloy buksan yung iba pa.  So sad that we are having this just when I really needed a boost to increase the numbers of our clients.

Fuck. This is bad.

What should I do?  Wala naman nang kukuha sa aming service ngayon dahil nga sa imminent problem na dala ng covid 19.

Almost all companies are either shut down or they have skeletal workforce lang muna. Others that can't afford to totally close, they let their employees work from home.

Na ginagawa ko sa ngayon. Kumusta naman kaya ang mga angels ko?   Hmmm, I'll just wait for their reports later.  May scheduled conference call kami ng 4pm to update me sa kanilang accomplishments.

I focused my attention sa financial report ng Accounting.   Kahit anong computation ko sa mga figures na nasa harap ko, ganun pa rin.  Negative ang total.  There must be something wrong somewhere.

Think again, Wong.

There is an email that just arrived from Mr. Delos Santos. Our project with him is already done months ago and we haven't heard from him eversince. Akala ko nga kukunin nya uli yung service namin pero hindi na ito nasundan pa.

Ano kaya ang gusto nya?  To make business with us?   Interesting.

I opened it and was surprised to see that he just want to ask how am I and how is the covid 19 affecting our company. Naalala nya ako.  That is very nice of him.

I recalled the first time that we met.   Okay naman sya kausap although napaka demanding nya which is just right. Paying customer kasi sya. He wants to get his money back.

To be successful in business, you have to do that. You need to insist on what you want.

Act like a boss, ganun ba Wong?

He is already a big boss kaya may karapatan syang umakto ng ganun. Sa ngayon , unti unti na syang nakikilala as one of the best magnate in the country. Matinik sa negosyo. Yun nga sana ang target ko, di ba? Kaso mapupurnada pa yata huhu.
