Chapter 37

Yesterday, I was so stress. Hopefully this day will be very productive.Hayy. I'm off to the elevator when I saw my secretary, Karla Clet in short KC. Naging close friend ko siya when we are at college.

"Good morning ma'am." Ang bati niya with matching wink.

"Hahaha. Good morning." She always tease me with that 'ma'am'. Sabagay kasi we never thought I'll be her boss today because she's smarter than me when we are at college.

"You seem not to be in your normal mood these past few days. Something wrong ma'am?" She said as she did her half-smile.

"Oh common, KC. Stop calling me ma'am. Hahaha. Hmm, everything's fine naman. I'll just call you if I can't handle it anymore. Sorry if I can't tell it to you right now. So, the schedule?" Ang tanong ko. I always want her to remind me time by time so I can review the topic that I'll discuss to my client. Alam ko, full load ako today sa mga meeting.

"Nakakagulat 'to. I don't know what happen but there's a guy called me last night and asking for a schedule to have a talk with you. So, I ask him what kind of talk is it? And I also tell him that if he wants to schedule for a meeting he must first tell me what's his concern to our company especially to you. And he said, he is willing to find a buyer to all of our available lots and I be like, really? We have a thousands of lots." Ang sabi niya as we reached the 5th floor. Wow! That's impossible.

"I think that's a scam. So what did you say?"

"I tell him that the available schedule for him is 5PM to 7PM so he has 2 hours. Pero ayaw niya. Sabi niya, if kailangan daw i-move ang schedule ng iba i-move daw. Sabi ko naman, 'sir, that can't be' kasi diba? Kung talagang businessman siya, alam niya na hindi puwede 'yon. But he ask me kung sino ba mga naka-line up na businessman ang mag papa-meeting with you, so I told him kung sino tapos nag good bye siya at pinatay na yung phone. Then suddenly, Mr. Kang, Mrs. Uy, Mrs. Santos and Mr. Domingo texted me that they decided to cancel their meeting with you. Then the guy who is known to be Mr. Pascual called me again, and he said 'what's the available time again?' and I said, 'you're lucky sir because all of the meetings tomorrow were cancelled so you're free to schedule a meeting. What time do you want it sir?' He said, 'from 10AM to 7PM' so I said, okay sir and he thanked me and hang up. So, your meeting will be at 10AM." Ang sabi niya.

"So, that's for real?! Kala ko naman hindi natuloy. Tsk! Sino kaya yung Mr. Pascual na 'yon? At 10AM to 7PM ang schedule? Ano naman pag uusapan namin ng 15 hours without a break?" Ang iritadong tanong ko. Sino ba naman kasi ang matinong kleyente ang mag papa-schedule ng 15 hours meeting?

"I don't know. But you know what, feeling ko big fish 'to. Kasi akalain mong nag pa cancel ng meeting yung ibang client mo just for him." Ang sabi niya. I glance at my watch and noticed that it's 9AM I have to get ready with myself and talk to the board members about this. "At oo nga pala, he don't want to have a talk with the board members. He just want to have a talk with you, only you." Ang dugtong niya.

"What?! That's creepy." Ano naman gagawin namin ng 15 hours?! Baka patayin niya lang ako or baka ano gawin niya sa'kin.

"Don't worry, dear. I'll let the guards check all of his stuff before going in at nasa labas lang naman kaming lahat just scream and we'll be there. And wait.. for your safety and self-defense, bring a knife. Okay?" Ang sabi niya.

I sighed and sitted and put my head into the table. Nakaka-stress naman talaga. I reach the folders of our company reports beneath me.

"Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Time is running! Be ready, ma'am." Ang sabi ni KC with dancing steps.

"Napag iisip-isip ko lang, bakit kaya hindi nalang tayo mag palit ng work? Magaling ka naman kasi mag handle sa mga ganitong bagay. While me? Madali akong mag give up." Ang sabi ko habang nakapalumbaba.
