-Remus's POV-

M'kay. I need to know why there's two creativities. I mean, there has to be some kind of story behind it. Maybe I'll ask Virgil and De. They're the ones I grew up with, afterall.

I teleport to Virgil's room, though obviously much to his dismay. "What the hell do you want?" he asks, looking at me in a side-glance.
"Answers, emo. I want answers." I tell him. Virgil frowns a little and puts down his phone, looking at me. "About what?" he asks.

"Well, you're one of the only people who's known me since childhood, and I don't have any memories from that long ago. I just remember growing up in the darkside with you two motherfuckers."

Virgil does that thing he does when he's nervous; fidgets and plays with his shirt collar. That makes me think he knows something.
".... Wow you're really being serious about this huh..?" he says after a while. "Just because I'm.. Well, me, doesn't mean I don't want to know where I came from, Virgil."

"Um... Look Remus, I don't know where you came from. All I know is one day, Deceit walked in holding your hand. I don't even know where you got your name." he tell me.
I frown a little, trying to comprehend this. So De knows? Maybe I'll take a break then ask him. Or ask Roman first... Maybe he knows?

-Roman's POV-

I've decided to try to ask Logan and Patton about where I came from. My memories are fuzzy, but I remember being a light side practically raised by them.
I go to Patton first, as he's in the kitchen making cookies. A normal thing, for him.

"Hello, Patton!" I say, to which he turns around and smiles. "Hey Roman! What can I do for ya?" he asks happily. "Sorry if it's a sore subject but.. Where did I come from, really? I don't.. Remember much from the past."

Patton looks a little uneasy for a moment before finally speaking. "Um... R-right, yeah.. Uh... Well..."

<flashback in Patton's POV>

After Deceit left, Logan walked over to me and the kid. I knelt down to look at him. "Do you have a name, kiddo?" The kid nods a little.
"Roman." he says. Logan and I look at each other. "How did you know that?" Logan asks. Roman looks to the side then back at us. "That man told me. The one with the snake face."

<end flashback>

"And, that's what you told me." Patton says. I frown a little. "I don't remember any of that.. I always assumed you named me. How did Deceit's know my name..?"
Patton shrugs a little. "I think you should ask him though," he says, rubbing his neck and continuing to make the cookies.

"He'd know better than me."

-Third Person POV-

Roman goes to his room just to find his brother there. "SwEET-... Beard of Zeus, Remus you- ghhh.."
"Sorry, I'm here to discuss something."  Remus says, actually apologizing for scaring Roman. "Hhhalright. Brother chat huh? Let's get it over with then.." Roman says.

"Well, I'm sure you're wondering too, twinkle-toes, so it's not like this will be a one-sided conversation." Remus says, and Roman frowns curiously and looks at him.
"You have my attention." he says. "I asked Virgil where I came from, and he didn't give me much. So I came here." Remus says.

"Well, I asked Patton, same thing here. Why would I know?" Roman replied. "Well, I do have one hint. Something the dork with a tie said when I knocked you out- you remember that?" Remus says, grinning in his way.

Roman facepalms a little and then hand points to Remus. "Stay on topic, please. What did Logan say?"
"Right. He said something like, ‘Your creativity split in two, two different aspects of your personality during your development.’ or some nerdy thing like that."

"... Split..? Split..." Roman says, trying to comprehend.

"You two are digging into a rabbit hole I'm not sure you want to see." Deceit says behind them, making them both turn around.

-Deceit's POV-

I heard everything the two said and asked today. I should have expected this. Damn Logan, giving them that much of a drop..

"Deceit!" the twins say at the same time, catching me off guard. "... Listen. I know you both want to ask me things, but the answer is I'm not answering. I.. Can't."

"Can't or won't?" Roman says. "Both." I respond. "C'mon, De-de, we wanna know." says Remus afterwards. "What about it is so difficult to explain?!" Roman says.

"Oh ENOUGH!.... You wouldn't understand anyway.. Besides, I don't have the heart to tell you, you'd feel like it was your fault even though it wasn't."

"... Try me.." Roman says quietly. "Kinky." Remus whispers. "Shut up!" Roman hisses back.

I sigh. "Romulus.." I cover my mouth for a moment. "That's a name I haven't uttered for years... He was my best friend. The king. We did everything together. Got into so many shenanigans.. Then one day, Thomas's mom caught him saying something.. Romulus came up with. A disturbing thought, if you will.."

Roman and Remus both got a look of what I can only assume is the beginning of understanding.

"After she lectured him, Romulus was.. Off. He seemed irritable and distant.. He started acting kind of unstable. When I went to check on him the next day.. I.. Found you two in his room.. I figured if he himself split, I might as well split his name too.. So..." I looked at Roman. "You became Roman," then at Remus. "and you became Remus.. The two sides of what was my best friend..."

-Third Person POV-

Roman was shocked, and felt sorry for Deceit. Even Remus couldn't help but frown sadly. The two looked at each other, for a very long moment, before looking back at Deceit.

"So... You named us, huh..?" Remus says. Deceit looks at him - the only confirmation he could give at the moment.
"I-i'm... I'm so sorry Deceit, I-... Well what if we could-" Roman starts, but Deceit cuts him off. "No! Please don't.. I can live.." he says before teleporting back to his own room, leaving the two brothers alone.

"We were..." Roman says. "Yeah, I got that, Roman Noodles... Hhh, see ya.." Remus says, also disappearing to his room.

Roman plops on his bed, sorting through all the things he'd just been told. Remus was doing much the same in his room.

Now they both knew, and now their feelings are even more complicated than before.
