Ruby, Y/N, and Jane walk through the entrance to the main hall to see the other students that are also attending the Academy.

Yang: (waves) Ruby, Y/N! Over here! I saved you some spots!

Ruby: Hey, we gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony!

Y/N: Bye, Jane.

Jane: Hey, wait! *sighs* Ah, great. Where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl and a cute little boy to talk to?! (she walks away)

Yang: How's your first day going, guys?

Ruby: You mean since you ditched us and we exploded!

Yang: Yikes! Meltdown already?

Y/N: No, we literally exploded a hole in front of the school!

Ruby: And there was some fire, and I think some ice...

Yang: (smiles) Are you being sarcastic?

Ruby: *scoffs* I wish! We tripped over some crabby girl's luggage, and then she yelled at us, and then we sneezed, and then we exploded, and then she yelled at us again!

Y/N: Yep and then we felt really bad.

Weiss: (appears behind Ruby & Y/N) You two!

Ruby jumps into her sister's arms, while Y/N transforms and hides under Yang's legs and whimpers.

Ruby: Oh, god, it's happenening again!

Weiss: You're lucky we weren't blown off the
side of the cliff!

Yang: Oh my god, you guys really exploded.

Y/N: (transforms back) It was an accident!

Weiss holds up a pamphlet titled "Dust for Dummies and other Inadequate Individuals" to Ruby and Y/N.

Ruby & Y/N: What's this?

Weiss: The Schnee Dust Companies not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy to follow guide to Dust applications and practice in the field.

Ruby: Uh...

Weiss: You really want to start making things up to me?

Ruby & Y/N: Absolutely!

Weiss: (gives pamphlet to Ruby) Read this, and don't ever talk to me again. (points at Y/N) Transform into a cute fox pup.

Y/N transforms and Weiss picks him up and starts hugging and petting Y/N. Making him wag his tail like a dog.

Yang: Look, uh, it sounds like you guys just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?

Ruby: (puts the pamphlet in her pocket) Yeah! Great idea, sis! (holding out her hand) Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!

Weiss: Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys, like small, H/C, and soft over here!

Ruby: Wow, really?!

Weiss: (stares at Ruby) No. Although I wouldn't mind talking to you little guy.

Y/N: *chuckles* Thanks.

The girls and Y/N draw their attention to the stage, where Professor Ozpin is ready to speak through the microphone with Glynda beside him.

Ozpin: I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and aquife new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to desicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step.
