The Battle of Beacon

Y/N gets himself in a seat across from Ruby. He gets ready for the next match to start. Y/N suddenly sees Ruby stand up from her seat as she quickly leaves. Y/N then looks in the crowd and sees Emerald.

Y/N's (thoughts): Emerald? I have to get to Ruby!

Y/N leaves his seat and quickly runs to be with Ruby. Ruby runs into the staff only room. She walks down the hall to see Mercury walk out of the corner.

Ruby: Mercury?

Port (intercom): It looks likes our first contender is... Penny Polendina from Atlas!

Ruby: What are you doing?

Port (intercom): And her opponent will be... Pyrrha Nikos from Beacon!

Ruby: No...

Mercury: Oooh, polarity vs. metal. That could be bad.

Ruby: (reaches for her weapon to only realize she doesn't have it) Mercury... what are you doing? You were hurt! Why...? Uh... What's going on? (Mercury doesn't answer) Fine, if you're not going to tell me. (Ruby side stepped but Mercury got in her so that she wouldn't be able to leave)

Oobleck (intercom): Fighters, are you ready? (Ruby hears the crowd cheering for the match but Ruby was beginning to get even more worried)

Oobleck (intercom): Three! Two! One! Begin!

Mercury: Show time!

Ruby tries to use her speed to get past him, but he kicks her back. She pulls out her scroll to call for help, but Mercury shoots the scroll out of her hands causing it to break.

Mercury: Let's just keep this between us "friends". (Y/N runs through the door & takes off his mask as he jumps & kicks Mercury back)

Y/N: Sorry I'm late.

Ruby: You're just in time!

Y/N: Go stop, Emerald. I'll handle him.

Ruby: Okay.

Y/N rushes towards Mercury kicking him into the air which gives Ruby enough time to get past him and starts running. As Mercury lands back on the floor and quickly turns to Ruby.

Mercury: Hey! Get back here! (He starts to run after Ruby, but Y/N suddenly appears in front of him & kicks him back)

Y/N: Your fight is with me. And I'm gonna take one of your legs.

Mercury: Heh, I'd like to see you try.

Mercury gets up and kicks you, but Y/N blocks all of the attacks and grabs his leg and throws him into the wall. He tries to quickly stand, but Y/N quickly used his elbow to shatter Mercury's metal leg making Mercury fall to the ground.

Y/N: I knew it.

Mercury: No!

Y/N: The next time we meet. I will kill you.

Y/N quickly leaves the room as Mercury sits there helplessly. Y/N quickly runs through the door to see Ruby on her knees.

Y/N: Ruby! What happened?

Ruby: Penny...

Ruby starts crying, as Y/N looks up to the stage to see a dismembered Penny, and Pyrrha standing there with a shocked and horrified facial reaction.

Y/N: (hugs Ruby) I'm sorry Ruby. We were too late... (Ruby continues to cry in Y/N's arms)

Oobleck: Broadcast, what are you doing? Kill the feed!

Broadcast Operator: Something's wrong! We don't have control over the cameras! We can't even stop the broadcast!

Oobleck: What?! How is that possible?!
