I sat in History, trying not to fall asleep. Hiccup was the only thing keeping me awake. I was looking at him although he wasn't looking at me. He was sketching what I assume is another wolf in his book. "World War II ended in..." The teacher started. "Anyone got anything? Miss DunBroch?"
I look to Hiccup tossing my pencil at him. He looked up slowly. "What?"
"FYI... Our Football team sucks." I start remembering when he caught the football from nearly hitting me. "They could use you," I say.
"Can't." He whispered. "I suck at Football now. Took too many injuries!"
"Pearl Harbor?" The teacher asked again.
"I'm kind of a loner." He started. "Us Loners don't do crazy things such as joining the Football team,"
"Miss Arendelle?" The teacher called on me.
I look at him. "Hmm?"
"Pearl Harbor?" He asked again
"Um..."
"December 7th, 1941." Hiccup suddenly said completely saving me.
"Thank you, Miss Arendelle." The teacher said sarcastically.
Hiccup smirked. "Anytime, Sir!"
"Very well, since you seem to be a little cheeky today, Mr. Haddock, the fall of the Berlin Wall." Our History teacher started with the brown-haired boy.
"1989." Hiccup answered. The teacher stared at him, giving me an off look. "I'm good with dates, sir."
"Are you? How good?" The teacher hissed. "Keep it to the year." He started. "Civil Rights Act."
"1964." Hiccup answered.
"John F. Kennedy assassination."
"1963."
"Martin Luther King."
" '68."
"Lincoln."
"1865."
"Roe vs. Wade."
"1973."
"Brown vs. Board."
"1954."
"The battle of Gettysburg."
"1863."
"Korean War."
"1950 to 1953."
"Ha!" The teacher suddenly snapped. "It ended in '52!"
Hiccup rolled his eyes. "Uh, actually, sir, it was '53."
The teacher looked at all of us with a mad look. "Look it up, somebody. Quickly."
We all look it up. I find the proper date. "It was 19... 53," I say then looked to Hiccup who glanced at the teacher then to me and finally back to his book. The bell rang. I watch everyone leave. Hiccup stood up slowly getting his things. "Hey, How did you know all of that?" I ask him as we walk down the hall.
"Years and years of crossword puzzles." He said to me. "Again, it's a loner thing."
I smile. "Sure it is."
He looked at me. "Yeah. It is. I'm a loner."
The bell thankfully ran for Lunch, and Hiccup and I walk down the hall then stop at my locker. "So. Where are we doing this science project?" I ask.
"My house." He answered.
"Your house?"
"Mhm."
