Weeks went by. Everything was fine. We had no encounters with the wolf pack. I'm positive, they won't be back. It seemed we had only one enemy left.

Time

Karli was growing too fast. We all worried about how long we would have with her. It just made every moment more precious to Hiccup and me. Karli played in the snow, while Punz and I watched her. "Look, a snowflake." Karli giggled as she brought over a snowflake.

"It's beautiful," I say to her.

"Why don't you go get another one?" I told her, then leaned against the tree. She giggled then went on. "Hiccup's really starting to concern me," I tell Punz. "It's like something is bugging him," I add.

"What would bug a Dire Wolf?" Punz asked. I shrug my shoulders. "He's probably going through some Major Wolf withdrawal," Punz said, probably joking about it.

"Is that even a thing?" I ask. She shrugged her shoulders again. "Whatever, but it's something he said," I tell her.

"What?"

"She'll live forever.."

"She's immortal. She'll live forever as he does." She said.

I know that!" I snap. "It's like he's scared to lose something."

LATER

We were all in the living room. Hiccup was at the piano with Karli. He was teaching her how to play the piano. She's smart. A quick learner. She may be smarter than the average human. Hiccup would play a note, then she'd play it back perfectly. He'd play her some chords, formed into a melody and she'd play it back to him.  "I didn't know he played," Anna whispered to me.

He then started playing a song himself, with our Daughters helpful assistance. "He's good. Just wait." I heard Karli play some notes of the song, Hiccup wrote for me. While she played the song he wrote, he added on to it in a different octave, merging their playing together into one song.

It's sounded even better than before. He may have written one for Karli and mixed it with mine.

He shortly finished his part as she did. To pass time and to test her, he played a few chords to her, and he perfectly played them back to her. She then played back a couple of notes on her own, making him smile faintly.

I think she's smarter than her own Father. Who by the way, is extremely smart for someone who's over 100 years old. "Smart girl," Anna told me.

"She may be smarter than an average human," I tell her.

She nodded, as Hiccup stopped. He looked to Karli She gazed at her father, with pure love in her eyes. I can tell, Karli was always fascinated by her Father. Maybe because they were both wolves. I don't know. But she followed after him a lot.

She looked to him then to the piano. I heard her starting to play the song, he was playing. I knew he wrote that for her. He wrote one for me, I know he'd write one for her. He stood up as she played. Hiccup faintly ruffled our Daughters hair. He looked to me, then went out to the balcony slowly.

Whatever was bugging him, is still bugging him. I just really wish I knew what it was.
