Chapter Seventeen - Let Me Save You
(*Excuse any errors.)
-Jordan-
I decided that it would be best if I told my dad everything. My relapse and my situation with Blaine. I figured it would be best if he knew that I'm no longer fit to be the Alpha.
He was silent the entire Skype call, I know it's because I disappointed him. It wasn't my intention but given the circumstances, I did just that. I don't blame anyone, I am an adult and my decisions are of my will.
I still drink way more than I need to. I want to stop but the numbness that I get from it helps me a lot. When I'm drunk, I don't feel as empty. I know it's not healthy, it's not who I am. This version of me is weak.
My dad is arriving today and we'll address the pack to let them know that I will be stepping down temporarily as the Alpha of this pack. It pains me to disappoint them this way but I can't keep putting on a brave face when I'm breaking on the inside.
It's been about a week since Blaine and I had our morning dispute. I haven't seen him, mostly because I've been in my room all week. I didn't even bother to go to my office to do my approvals for the food delivery, I did them on my laptop and proceeded to drink myself to oblivion.
The new beta arrives tomorrow, he'll be my dad's beta since I'm out of commission for a while. I don't know how long it'll be this way but I'm hoping that I can get better.
"Alpha Jordan?" Theodore's voice rings from outside the door. I slide off my bed and walk towards the door, "Yes." I say opening the door. He looks up into my eyes, "Uh, your father is here." He says lowering his head in respect. I groan, I know I'm going to be scolded but there's no going back.
He's probably pissed that I pulled him out of retirement. "Is he at the gate?" I ask following Theodore down the stairs. I had a bottle of vodka for breakfast and I know he's going to smell it on me. Maybe I should just go crawl in a corner and hide.
"No, he's in the foyer," Theodore says coming to a stop at the bottom of the stairs. My eyes slowly scan the room until they land on my dad. He looks good, he looks happy. He smiles as I walk towards him. His smile makes me feel warm, I missed him a lot.
"Welcome back, Dad," I say and he pulls me into a bear hug. I rest my head on his shoulder and take in his scent. "My boy, I missed you." He mumbles happily. We stay like this for a few seconds before he pulls away.
"I'm sorry, Dad. I know I've been a dis-"
"Hey hey, we'll talk later. Now I just want to know how you're doing and I want to say hello Helena." He says sliding his hand over my shoulder. I nod and we walk to the kitchen.
"I don't think that's the best idea for right n-" Helena stops talking when we emerge from the hallway. I can only see her but I can smell him. His scent is the most distinct out of everyone here because he's not pure-bred.
My dad lets go and walks to Helena. She smiles happily, "Oh my Gosh! You're back! How was vacation? You have to tell me about the islands!" Helena beams with joy. My dad often said that Helena is the daughter he never had.
"Oh it was amazing...hello, I'm going to guess that you're Blaine?" My dad says averting his attention to Blaine. He's sitting in the counter with a cup of tea in front of him. His eyes shift from me to my dad and he smiles, "Yes, sir. I am. It's very nice to meet you." He says in a honeyed tone before lowering his head in respect.
My eyes scan his body up and down. His lip is still healing from our fight and he has a bruise on his arm. I frown, that was really idiotic of us.
