Chapter Twenty-Six - Let Me Save You
(*Excuse any errors)
-Hunter-
I watch in horror as they lift Blaine's lifeless body on a stretcher. The EMTs are doing their best to keep him alive but from the sound of his heartbeat -well lack thereof- I don't think they're going to be able to revive him.
He took a bullet for Jordan. An act of true love eh?
I just wish it wasn't so tragic.
Jordan watches with a blank expression as they load him onto the ambulance and drive off. "Donovan Vitalo, you're under arrest..." the officer starts reading him his rights.
"I- it wasn't for him...what did I do?" Donovan says with a shaky voice. Anger courses through my body and the only thing I want to do right now, is rip that piece of shit to shreds.
I'm sure Jordan feels the same but he's still on his knees with bloody hands, staring distantly at where the ambulance us to be. This just one-hundred percent broke his spirit and I can tell through his eyes. His eyes are void of any emotion and I know that's not a good sign.
"I'm gonna go to the hospital and see what's happening. Take Jordan back to the hotel room and notify his dad." Porter says before walking towards one of the cop cars. "Hey Kaeden, can you make sure everything is in order here? That container needs to remains closed until tomorrow morning." I say to Kaeden and he nods.
"You think he's gonna be okay?" He asks looking towards Jordan. I frown, not by a long shot. "I don't know. Call if you have any trouble." I say before walking towards Jordan.
"Hey Bud, come on. Let's go back to the hotel room. We can't stay here." I say lifting him off of the ground. He doesn't say anything but walks alongside me with a defeated aura around him.
Blaine is not dead yet but things aren't looking too good.
Walking through the lobby felt weird. Just two hours ago, Blaine was with us, in perfect health. Him and Jordan could not keep their eyes off of each other and it was pretty evident that good things had conspired between them. I was glad to see Jordan smiling, when he came to my pack to ask me to be his beta, he didn't look so great. There was a deep sadness in his eyes and that sadness was finally being lifted.
Opening the door to Jordan's room was another reminder of Blaine's absence. His scent is all over the place. Maybe I should have brought him to my room. "Jordan? Do you want to wash your hands?" I ask looking down at his bloody hands. Blaine's blood.
He looks into my eyes emptily. He walks away without saying a word. I watch him carefully as he walks over to the mini-bar. Jesus fuck! I should have known this was coming. I walk towards him but before I can reach him, he rips the lock off of the cabinet doors and grabs a medium size bottle of whiskey.
"Jordan, come on. This is not necessary. Blaine is not dead. Look let's go wash your hands and then we can head to the hospital..." I say trying to reason with him. With a blank expression, he opens the bottle and knocks it back.
I frown as he downs the whole thing before letting fall. The glass shatters at our feet. I nod and walk over to the phone. Only his dad can help at this point. I hope.
He grabs another one before walking over to the bed and slides in with his shoes and suit still on. Damn, this hurts.
"Hello?" His dad answers. I clear my throat, "Hey this is Henry, something bad happened..." I start.
