Chapter Thirty-Six - Let Me Save You
(*Excuse any errors)
-Blaine-
"For the month of May, we have four shipments coming from Swanson Corp, the containers will require a lot of security and given what happened the last time, we'll have to hire more manpower and if push comes to shove, we'll get WPD involved," Brent explains seriously. He's the operations manager for the port, he reports to Jordan's dad but in the end, Jordan has to sign off on anything that happens.
Unfortunately today, Jordan has a meeting upstairs with some new partners, Hunter is in charge of the pack which left me. Third in command has to step in if both Alpha and Beta are preoccupied. Bright and early, Jordan woke up me, we got dressed and drove to Westbrook.
Jordan kissed me goodbye in the elevator as I got off on the fifteenth floor and he continued up to the eighteenth floor. I'm glad that he's at least in the same building as me and we get to have lunch together.
It's been a week since he proposed and sadly, we've been so busy that anytime we get to be around each other, we hold sacred. Since I told him that I wanted to get married in the winter, we haven't talked about the wedding much. It's okay because there's a lot going on and wedding planning would just add unnecessary stress.
Later today I have therapy and Jordan has an AA meeting. He doesn't complain about them as much as he used to, he even went out to dinner with one of the men in his group. I'm so proud of him, he's improved so much.
"Mr. Robinson?" Brent asks from the end of the table. I shake my thoughts away and sit up, "Yes?"
"Anything to add or anything you want us to do for May?" He asks politely. Brent is cool, he has a hard job but he does it effortlessly.
"Just make sure you get signed confirmation emails from any security team that you hire. Jordan will want to see that before giving the ships the okay to come in. Also, he'll need the reports for last month's deliveries. I think that should be it but later today you'll get an email with everything that we will need for May. Any questions?" I say looking up from the folder. Jordan neatly organized a folder with all the things he'll need and all I have to do is relate the message.
"Only one," Brent asks looking down at my ring. "Yeah what's up?" I ask as if I don't know that he's going to ask something about the wedding.
"When are you saying I do?" He smiles kindly. I close the folder and stand up, "We didn't pick a date but when we do, we'll let you know." I say on my way to the door. I've always wanted to have an intimate wedding but from the looks of it, the whole city of Westbrook will want an invite.
We received so many flowers and sweets from people that Helena had to have Theodore bring most of the flowers to the burial grounds. The sweets are still in a giant box downstairs but Jordan has forbidden me from touching any of them. He's paranoid that someone might have poisoned them.
When we walked through the lobby, the guests and the staff would not stop staring at us. I don't see the big deal, they've seen anyone engaged before?
I say goodbye to Brent and head towards the elevators. Jordan told me to meet him on the twentieth floor which is where one of the restaurants is located. Jordan has an hour to eat lunch before he has to head down to another meeting that will end at five in the afternoon. I will be in his office setting up contracts for new partners.
We'll get back home late and by the time we shower, we'll probably be too tired to do anything. But on the bright side, tomorrow is Saturday and we're free to do whatever.
