-Jordan-
"How's he doing?" Charlotte asks from behind my desk. She came up to my office worried because she knocked on Blaine's door and he didn't answer. I let her know that he's been in my room for two days. He's been sleeping on and off and hasn't eaten anything.
"Not great. He's not eating. He has nightmares and he's had two panic attacks. Andrew is going to check on him later." I say placing the files on my desk in folders. I told Blaine I would be done at twelve and it's now eleven-thirty. I couldn't even focus on the work because I kept thinking about him.
He brings out the less reckless side of me. Having him around allows me to not think about drinking, I don't even think about Aaron as often as I use to. I just want to dedicate my time to him, to make sure he's okay.
"You should take him to the spring, I'm sure he'd enjoy that. He needs to get out for some fresh air." Charlotte suggests. The spring is a hot spring located in a cave on the west end of the territory. The pack members mostly use it in the summer but I'm sure the water is still warm in the winter.
"That's a good idea, I'll ask Edmond to go over there and check on the water."
I'm not sure if Blaine might enjoy going swimming but the water might take his mind off of things.
Charlotte says goodbye and leaves my office. I finish filing the documents on my desk and I reach over to turn off my computer. It chimes loudly indicating a skype call, I groan internally. It's my dad, he's probably going to yell at me for not calling him. I haven't talked to him since Daniel's funeral.
I accept the call and sit back in my chair. "Hey son, long time no see." He says sarcastically. "Dad, I'm sorry. I've just been busy." I say in hopes that he'll drop his attitude. He looks at me with furrowed brows, "Too busy for your old man, I get it. Soon you'll be shipping me off to a nursing home." He sighed dramatically.
I scoff, "Dad, I'm sure you'll outlive me." He laughs happily, I smile to myself. For a long time after my mom died, he never smiled. I think I actually cried the first time I saw him smile after her death. It looks good on him. "I'm pulling your leg son, how's everything going? When's your new beta coming? Have you visited Dan?" He asks quickly. Shit!
After Daniel's funeral, I never went back to the burial grounds. As an Alpha, I should go and pay respect but every time I step foot there, I get so depressed. My mom, Aaron, and Daniel all rest there. Three people that meant the world to me, gone.
"No, I haven't. If you're going to scold me, could you send it in a text?" I ask getting slightly annoyed because the time at the bottom of the screen reads 11:51 Am. I'm not sure if Blaine is still sleeping but yesterday when I came back at twelve, he was knocked out on the armchair. When Helena and I tell him to not spend the whole day in bed, he moves to other areas to fall asleep because, "technically, he's not in bed", according to him.
"I'm not. I get it. It's not easy to go over there." He agrees. "Yeah. Well, dad, I have to go. I'll call you later." I say hurriedly. He nods and we say goodbye. I sigh of relief and turn my monitor off before grabbing my coat and leaving the room. It's a short walk from my office to my bedroom, sometimes it's hard to get into work mode when I know my bed is only a few steps away.
I push my door open and Blaine is sitting up on my headboard with a plate of food in front of him. Yes! He's eating.
"Hi." He mumbles weakly. The skin under his eyes is swollen and red, along with that, his skin has turned ghastly pale. The volume that his hair once carried is no longer there, it's flat and it now goes past his eyes.
