Going to The Academy

Natsuki's P.O.V

I was walking along the side of the road, towards the academy, when I saw my cousin jumping across the rooftops.

Suddenly, he stopped on top of a lamppost, looking down at someone.

I looked ahead, there's this guy wearing blue just walking across the street in front of me.

I blinked, and he was gone.

Boruto did a double-take, then leaped away.

I wanted to go after him, so he doesn't get into trouble, but I can't afford to be late to the academy, so I ran towards the academy.

I didn't know where he went, but when we attended role call, when Shino-Sensei called out Boruto's name, he didn't respond.

I looked around, he wasn't here at all, but then, I heard a screeching sound, something that no-one else heard but me.

I looked towards the source of the sound, and I saw a derailed train coming towards us.

I reacted faster than anyone could.

"Fuuton: Cushioning Air Currents!" I yelled, using wind style to slow down the train and drop it down.

At least, that's what I expected to happen.

Instead, I only slowed down the train a tiny bit.

Then, dad showed up.

He took off his mask and activated his right eye.

"Nentougoku!"

The train abruptly stopped and dropped to the ground softly.

Wow, my dad is amazing.

A round of applause sounded from the crowd of students, but to my surprise, Boruto stepped out of the train.

"Boruto Uzumaki... Is here, dattebasa!" He yelled.

Konohamaru Sensei appeared behind him and restrained him.

Boruto put up a good fight, but he couldn't outfight a jonin.

"Boruto! I hope you haven't been causing trouble!" I yelled, Uncle Naruto was cringing.

"Relax! I just helped out in the town, I was on an abandoned train and I didn't have time to get here, so I took the train." He called down to me, "Ow! Big Bro Konohamaru, too tight!" 

"Call me Konohamaru Sensei when we're at the academy, Boruto."

"Still, that doesn't excuse you being late to the academy and driving a train in here! You could've seriously hurt someone!" I yelled angrily.

"Actually, Natsuki, it was because you interfered that it could've landed in the crowd." Shino Sensei said.

"Huh? Why?" I asked.

"If Haru hadn't been here, that train would've landed in the midst of the crowd, hurting and potentially killing some students. It would've been better if you hadn't interfered at all since the original speed and trajectory of the train would've caused it to smash into the cliff, whilst it is impressive you know your nature releases, it is not yet strong enough to stop a train in the air, it may cause more harm than good." He explained.

I sank.

"Boruto and Natsuki, suspended for 2 weeks!" Shino Sensei announced.

"WHAT?" I exclaimed, "Why?"

"Did you not hear what I said literally seconds ago? Know when to use your ninjutsu."

I sighed in defeat. Mom is gonna kill me...

*Time skip*

After my suspension was over, I walked to the academy by myself, shoulders slumped.

Boruto walked out as I was walking past the Uzumaki household.

"Hey! Natsuki!" Boruto called out to me.

"Huh? Oh, Boruto!"

"Hey, uh, you really didn't deserve to be suspended, I'm sorry you had to get involved."

"Oh. Oh! No, it's fine, but just promise me that you won't do anything reckless, okay?" I pleaded.

"Heh, I can try, but no promises."

"Please do."

Then, he noticed someone in front of us.

"Hey! Denki!" He called out, and ran up to the blue clothes kid.

"Oh! Boruto! Your suspension is over!" He said.

"Yeah! I'm finally gonna be meeting our classmates!"

I smiled to see my cousin so happy, and so I left them to chat.

I arrived in the classroom and sat with Sarada.

"Hey, 'Tsuki." She said.

"Hey." I sighed, and sat down, and buried my face in my arms, like dad, I'm an insomniac, but I can't stay awake in the day if I don't sleep.

"You okay, Natsuki?" Sumire asked from the other side of Sarada.

"Yeah, just sleepy." I groaned, my voice muffled from my arms.

"Did you not sleep well?" Cho-Cho asked from the next desk over.

"Yeah, I'm an insomniac, it runs in the family, but unlike my dad, I can't stay awake in the day unless I sleep at least 2 hours at night." I mumbled.

"Who's your dad?" They asked.

Yeah, I never told them who my dad is, Boruto doesn't know either, though he does personally know my dad, but my dad doesn't tell anyone, not any kids, anyway.

"Ehh, you wouldn't know him." I said.

My dad told me not to tell anyone because he likes to surprise people.

"Oh, okay."

I never told anyone my last name, and my dad requested it from Iruka Sensei that my last name isn't shared until my dad reveals that he's my dad.

Shino Sensei then came in to take us out to the training grounds to test us.

I finished the obstacle course in first place thanks to the speed that I inherited from my father, the Blue Blitz of Konoha, fastest shinobi since Great-Uncle Minato.

Boruto seemed mad, since he always liked to be the best in everything.

The second place to me was a guy named Iwabe Yuino, Boruto heard that name and wanted to find him.

*Time skip*

We found Iwabe in our classroom at Lunch, when he started picking on Denki, Boruto jumped in and defended him, even challenging Iwabe to a duel in order to prevent Denki from getting hurt.

I was shocked, honestly, I didn't expect Boruto to do that, even though he is known for meddling into other peoples' business.

I wanted to slap him, to berate him for being too reckless, but I didn't, because I didn't want to do anything to get me in trouble again, last time my mom shocked me with lightning and threw me into the sky when she heard what happened.

I shivered at the thought.

We spent the rest of the day normally, well, everything was normal until the next day...

A/N: Hey! For the record, I did not give Natsuki her name because of Doki Doki Literature Club. I gave her her name because Natsu means Summer, and Ki means Spirit. So her name means Summer Spirit. Her father is called Haru, for Spring, I originally intended for him to be called Winter, but Fuyu sounds more like a female name, so I gave his mother Winter and his father Autumn.
