Chapter 43

Lucero pushes Leon behind him and holds the boys head stopping him from watching the devastating view in front of him.

"Go grab Lance, and stay with your grandmother" he asks the boy who nods his head and Lucero turns his head as he feels the boy's head rub at the back of his thigh while he makes no move but stays holding him pants.

Turning around he holds Leon's gaze making sure he does not see what was behind Lucero, who cups his son's face in his hands and stares in his eyes.

"Lance" Lucero speaks making the boy nod one again before Leon slowly turns to walk away.

"Liam?" he asks hesitating a bit.

"I got him" Lucero whispers before Leon rushes to go be with his brother.

Taking a deep breath, Lucero gets up and turns as he walks towards where Liam was still laying on the floor, grabbing the boy Lucero makes his way towards the crib where the baby was crying.

Picking up the kid, he finally makes his way towards his wife, kneeling in front of her he cups her cheek turning her tear-filled face towards him.

"Luc" she sobs clutching his hand and he slowly wipes her tears away caressing her cheek with his thumb.

"Logan needs to get fed" he states and she pauses mid cry staring at him stunned.

"But..."

"So, does your other four sons. I am not asking but you need to get all of them fed and tuck them in the bed...

It's way past their bed time and Liam needs someone he can hold onto for the night" he speaks while she stares at him in disbelief.

"We just lost..." she starts in anger but stops as he grips her face a bit hard.

"And the boys need one of us to be there for them, now get up and go to them" he asks and her shake on head makes him sigh as he puts the crying Logan on the floor.

"You can either choose to stay here and mourn or be with the boys and not let this touch them because your father is still in this house" his words makes her jerk away from him as she looks around the room before she eyes the door.

"Leon is with Lance and Lucas is with Molly, I have asked Leon to stay with Molly. You go be with them"

"But..." she hesitates as she glances at the body of Lauren.

"I got this" he assures as he grabs Logan and puts him in Flora's lap.

"The only one I will ever put on your lap for you to mother him" he whispers and Flora holds the oy in her arms as she cries nodding her head.

Lucero watches Flora walk out of the room with Liam and Logan before he eyes Lauren's body on the floor, picking up the baby first he covers her with the blanket and walks towards the bed.

Putting her on it he makes his way towards Lauren and picks her up as he places her on the bed, dropping a kiss on top of both the child and Lauren's head Lucero pulls away with a whisper.

"Be happy there, together"

Walking out of the door, he closes the door and takes a deep breath.

"Where's dad?" Leon asks as soon as Flora walks in, she just walks to where Molly was as she hands Logan to the woman.

"Food" Flora chokes as she wipes her tears away.

"You need to rest" Molly states as she stares at Flora who shakes her head no.

"Rus..."

"Asleep and safe" Molly assures and Flora shudders as she takes Liam towards the bed and lays the boy on it.
