Chapter 45

Lance giggles as he hides inside the closet, he covers his mouth when he cannot stop laughing out loud before a scream leaves his mouth when Flora opens the door to grab him. His squeals fill the room as he fights in Flora's hold.

Leon pauses at what he was doing and watches Lance trying to run away but Flora grabs his ankle pulling him towards her. He stares at Liam who was sitting on the floor staring at the drawing book blankly.

"Get ready" Leon asks his brother but Liam shows no reaction so with a sigh, Leon finishes up buttoning his shirt before he grabs his brother's clothes and makes his way towards Liam.

"We are getting late" Leon shakes the boy's shoulder and Liam just pushes his hand away.

"Mom, Liam" Leon glances at his mother's way who struggles with Lance to fit him in his clothes.

"Well, let him be" Flora groans as Lance starts to throw his legs refusing to wear the pant.

"Lance, I swear I will drag your naked ass if I have to" Flora warns the boy who just grins as he starts to crawl away.

"You know what, fuck it" Flora shouts throwing her hands up in the air.

"Fuck" Lance squeals clapping his hands.

"Mr. Fuck you" Liam whispers as he gets up at once and Flora sighs as she closes her eyes and takes deep breathes.

"What's going on?" Lucero asks as he walks in the room to find no one ready.

"Them" Flora points at Lance and Liam.

"Get down and wear that pant" Lucero points a finger at Lance before he marches to Liam and grabs his collar before forcefully changing his clothes.

"Now you made your father upset" Flora whispers to Lance who makes his way back to Flora and lies on the bed raising his legs so she can push his pants on.

"Line up" Lucero commands the boys and Leon glances at his father's face and frowns before he holds Lucero's hands and squeezes it a bit.

"No" Liam whimpers as he wraps his arms around Flora's legs and buries his face on her dress.

Flora puts her hand on the back of Liam's head and massages his scalp as she watches the coffin being brought around.

"Please no" Liam cries shaking his head and Lucero frowns as he stares at the boy before he looks at Flora, walking towards them he grabs Liam and pulls him in his arms.

"Not the princess" Liam whispers in Lucero's ear.

"We have to say goodbye, buddy. Come on, give your love to your father, mother and little sister" Lucero states as he walks with all of them towards the box.

"I don't want to" Liam shakes his head.

"Leon" Lucero calls the boy who stares at Lucero with wide eyes as he clutches onto Lucero's hand tightly.

"He is your real father, one who brought each of you in our lives, he was not a perfect man but I want each of you to remember him as a good brother, a good husband and a good father...

Better than one we once had. He never said it but loved you all, in his own unspoken ways and he will never stop even if he is not around for us to see...

I want you all to watch these three people because of whom we all are gathered here, alive and together so don't ever forget this day or them because I cannot...

As they may not be here but they left their shadows and parts of them in each of you. Go greet you parents and watch your sister before they remain in just our memories" he asks and Leon hesitates before Flora gives him a slight push.
