It has been 3 months since the kumoto city tournament. Yushidas victory earned him a great deal of admiration and respect from a large number of young duelists who hoped to one day become great duelists. While this tournament was fairly "small time" compared to historical and massive tournaments like battle city there was still something to take away from it. Those who made their way to the higher up brackets were seen as skilful and even somewhat inspirational duelists. Some of their motivations understandable while others unlikable. Yushidas win also showed him that he was well on his way to becoming a duelist comparable to the champions who came before him...But his loss to Pegasus immediately following showed him that he also still needed to improve. Right now Yushida was not improving his deck or participating in duels to build upon his skills...he was actually sat in a classroom waiting for the teacher to arrive and to be taught one of education's most boring and tedious subjects...mathematics."S-sorry I'm late children." The man walked into the room. He was wearing a slightly messy white shirt with a dark blue and rather untidy tie. He was wearing black jeans but they looked somewhat creased with a pair of black shoes. His entire outfit was a mess and he looked like he'd only just thrown it on in a hurry. He had slightly tanned skin with short grey receding hair and a thick grey stubble and brown eyes with dark bags under them. He was rather skinny as well, seeming like he was wasting away. "I-I'm going to be your new maths teacher an I'm called J-Josuke Kazuki.
The entire class sat there in almost complete silence. There were however the odd few whispers here and there.
"He seems like a nice guy." Hideo whispered to izuna who was sat next to him.
"Yes but he also seems extremely nervous...It's like he doesn't know what he's doing." Izuna replied.
Yushida sat there listening to the pair's comments. Looking at Josuke he was also equally unsure of him. "Well he's a teacher...so he must be competent in that at least." Yushida spoke firmly as he observed this teacher.
Josuke started to scribble various numbers and symbols upon the chalk board. Each stroke of his chalk creating an ear piercing noise throughout the room. "T-today we'll just be doing s-some basic stuff...s-solve the p-problems on board." Josuke sat down as he took a sigh of relief.
Half the class seemed dumbfounded by the problems on the board. Majority of them were simple yet the very bottom one seemed very difficult by comparison. Not only using all of the addition, subtraction, multiplication and even division but also decimals and larger numbers.
"I'm seeing this right? Right?" Izuna asked. "1252 + 133.5 - 813.1 × 10.5 ÷ 2..."
"You are...unfortunately." Yushida replied.
Josuke looked at the class nervously. "T-the very bottom question will be worth 90% of your scores...calculators are r-restricted." Josuke stated.
Majority of the class gave annoyed and defeated murmurs and sighs after hearing that as now it meant the other easy questions were irrelevant and they had to solve the one that mattered without aid and as it would turn out that through the entire hour long lesson not a single person answered the last question correctly, some even not answering it at all.
"W-well students...u-unfortunately not a single one of you a-answered the question correctly...s-so no one passes." Josuke spoke somewhat nervously. "I-ill see you all tomorrow.
Yushida walked out of the classroom seeming to be focused on something else. Izuna and hideo on the other hand followed after still sour over the test.
"Can't believe that...that was just annoying." Hideo muttered.
"More like complete crap!" Izuna practically shouted out. "He knew no one would get that! Am I right yushida?" He looked at yushida who was just quietly walking on ahead. "Uh Yushida?"
