To say that coming home had been hard would be an understatement. But coming home to a surprise was even worse.

I had not been expecting to see a shirtless Paul sitting on the kitchen floor, desperately trying to scrub the tile with some cleaning product.

"Paul?"

"Cay- ah shit," he stuttered out. In his nervousness, he tried to get up but due to the floor being slippery he failed. Now he was just scrambling to get up and making a huge mess. "I'm sorry. I was just trying to clean it up before you got back home."

Looking back at the soapy mess behind him, I could see that he had in fact been trying to clean up the bloody remains of what had happened a few days prior.

"You didn't have to Paul," I whispered out.

His face went into a look of sadness as he moved across the room to stand in front of me. "I know, but I didn't want you to come home to the memory. I can leave if you want."

Sighing and shaking my head, I left to retrieve a towel and set it down on the wet floor.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you. I was just upset that you helped me. You didn't deserve to see that either." I looked at the ground. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to see me like that and it made me feel incredibly guilty that he was the one to see it.

"You don't have to. I was the one that stayed away. I didn't even know about Gran until I found you," he said softly.

Before I could stop him he already reached out and pulled me into his arms.

The flashes were much different. I wasn't seeing Paul die but something else.

Pulling back harshly, "Paul what the hell is wrong with you?"

"What do you mean?" Confusion covered his face.

"What's in you?"  I asked. I was confused myself. The thing I saw wasn't human, but a silver wolf. Huge in size and strong, filled with power.

The flashes were so much different than anything I'd seen before. Instead, it was the wolf, the different lives it lived and how it died each time; then it moving on to start a life as part of another human.

He began stuttering and stopped as I reached up and grabbed Paul's face, looking into his deep brown eyes and trying to assess the situation. His body froze, pupils dilating under my gaze as if under a spell. I took in his features and kept my hold on his face, ignoring the way he was staring at me as best as possible. "You're different," I whispered.

It took him a moment before he could respond, a shiver running down his spine as he adjusted his gaze to look at the rest of my face. "How do you know?" I could see him swallow and feel him get jittery with nerves.

"I can feel him. See the things he's been through. He's angry."

"Cay, what are you talking about?" Paul must be scared. I'm scaring him away now and I just got him back.

Why am I like this, I thought angrily to myself.

"Your wolf Paul."

A short little chapter for the moment <3

Who is your favorite character from twilight?

I had to go back and rewrite a small part of this because the imprint scene wasn't very obvious and it confused some of the past readers.
