"Do you think she's upset with me?"
A rumble pushed it's way through Jasper's chest as he laughed at my question. "Well darlin', if she was she has a funny way of showing it."
Slapping his stone-like chest playfully I glanced up at him, "Be serious Jas. We haven't had much time together lately and I don't want her to feel like I'm neglecting her or something. And Paul-"
He quickly leaned down, capturing our lips in a kiss. Pulling my hand up to his mouth he placed another kiss there, then another on my forehead. "Alice has been too focused on the wedding to notice much else."
Jasper pushed small waves of calm towards me to counteract the stress. "Are you sure you have to leave now?"
I sighed, "Unfortunately. I have to drive to the bank before I go home."
"You know you're always welcome here. Esme loves having another person to mother, especially with your being human and all." I laughed at that. Esme was welcoming in every way possible. Always wanting to cook for me and give me motherly hugs or advice. "Why do you need to go to the bank?"
Well that ruined the mood.
"I uh, I need to take out a loan." My voice was quiet, but still heard.
"What for?"
"Jas you must know that the few times I have worked at the diner since Gran died is not enough to pay for the bills. A loan can help for now until I can find a job with a consistent amount of income coming in."
A scoff fell from his mouth and he disappeared from the couch. Looking to Esme and Carlisle for some sort of information, Carlisle tried his best not to meet my gaze and instead pushed his face further into the newspaper. Esme, however, gave me a halfsmile before quickly returning to the canvas in front of her.
"Done." Jasper's voice startled me.
"Excuse me," I squinted. Hearing a choked laugh from behind us I saw that Carlisle had left the room.
"The bills are taken care of. You don't have to worry about it anytime soon." His voice was calm, challenging almost.
"You didn't," I questioned. Receiving a smirk in response I stood angrily. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? CHRISTIAN GREY?"
A ridiculously loud laugh rang out as Emmett rushed into the room. Bent over and laughing loudly, he huffed in between words. "She. Said. ChRiStIaN. gReY!" Falling to the ground in a roll of giggles, at least someone was amused by the current interaction.
"Am I not allowed to take care of you? If you insist on living in that house, the least I can do is ensure that it is taken care of," Jasper responded coldly.
"That house, was my grandmother's. Thank you for the help and I appreciate that you wanted to do something nice, but if I wanted your money I would have asked for it. I'll see you tomorrow, I love you." I walked from the house, yelling a goodbye to the rest of the family and seeing Alice shaking her head at Jasper's actions.
Despite my current aggravation towards him, I refused to leave before saying 'I love you'. Due to my sensitive nature, I hated leaving fights without some kind of reassurance. No matter how my loved ones might upset me, saying it is a reminder that it will eventually be resolved no matter what.
My home was empty, though it wasn't surprising anymore. The wolves had been busy doing their wolfy things, and due to Jacob being gone they had to fill his position. Extra patrols for everyone. I made some sandwiches and left them for Paul to eat when he finally did come back.
Deciding to watch 10 Thing I hate About You, I ate some pizza that I had picked up for myself. A voicemail dinged on my phone - Jasper leaving a message telling me he loved me and wishing me a good nights sleep.
But most of my nights are never good.
Random question, do y'all read on wattpad with the scroll setting or the page setting? If that makes sense lol But for the longest time I had it on the setting where you would scroll from right to left, like a page. At some point I ended up having it on scrolling, probably around the time I read a lot on my laptop, and it's great. It took some getting used to though.
