The growling got louder and louder as the two wolves seemed to be having some sort of unspoken conversation.

By now, Jared and one other boy whose name I still don't know were outside with me.

"Not again," Jared groaned making my head snap towards him. He laughed nervously and scratched the back of his neck.

I slowly took a few steps forward, eyes trained on the silver wolf who was snarling in the others face. "Caylee, no. Don't go any closer."

Ignoring the warnings I kept walking.

I was beyond confused, but at the same time not at all. As if a deep part of me knew all along, and the vision from earlier had confirmed it and was later on proven by this situation. A small thump of my heart made me realize the dangers of the situation, but I couldn't let it stop me.

It's him.

"Pauly," I whispered gently. Almost immediately, the silver wolf stopped, looking at me with deep brown eyes that belonged to my best friend I loved so dearly. His ears pulled back and he let out a low whine which only made me smile.

"Shush you big baby," a laugh fell out after the words had been said.

What I could only assume was a snort of laughter came out of the big wolf and he nudged his shoulder with the one he had just been snarling at as he bounded towards me. I could practically see the smirk on his big wolfy face.

He softly nudged his head into my hand and looked at me through his eyelashes. Sighing, I threaded fingers through his fur and tugged slightly before running it through again.  A purring sound came from deep in his chest as he too sighed.

"Let me guess, the trouble always finds you huh?" I repeated the words Gran always told him. It was a joke that he was walking trouble, even though he swore it just came to him like a magnet. Saying it made tears come to my eyes as he let out another whine, this one sad, before plopping down and dragging me with him.

I buried my face in his fur and attempted to wrap my little arms around his big neck. He was upset, I knew that. I figured he had heard about Gran before that day. To find out someone who took care of you loved you was gone and then watching the only other person slowly slipping away must have been awful.

"I'm sorry. About everything." I said to him quietly, although I'm sure it could be heard by whoever else might be like him and Sam.

I didn't get a response as he moved away and walked into the woods. The now human Sam brought out a pair of shorts and walked after him as I sat still on the ground.

"Are you all like this?" I asked causing him to look over at me and nod.

"All except Em. We won't hurt you."

"I know." I replied softly causing his lips to turn upwards at the edges as he walked back into the house, bringing the others with him.

Paul emerged from the wood line and walked hastily towards me, pulling me to my feet and entrapping me in his arms.

"I missed you." His voice broke at the end, and so did my heart. God, I had missed him. Ever since we met we had practically been inseparable. Mainly due to him annoying me for a good month straight until I agreed to his friendship.

"I missed you too," I mumbled into his burning neck.

"I finally get to touch you." He chuckled. "Gross, that sounded weird."

"It's the first time I've really gotten to touch anyone since the accident." Paul pulled back to look at my face sadly. Grabbing my hand he pulled me back towards the house.

"You don't have to be alone now. I'm not saying to touch anyone but you've got me. You've got another family," he said looking at my features, studying me.

And into the house we went.
