Jasper was now standing awkwardly at the door frame. It made me wonder how much he might have heard, along with everyone else. With one last squeeze to my hand, Alice jumped up with a big smile and left the room.

"How much did you hear?" I asked quietly.

He moved out onto the balcony and sat where Alice had previously been. "None. Edward got home in time for Alice to shout at him in her head and we all left out of respect."

My face was red and blotchy from all the crying. It felt tight and I desperately tried to rub away the leftover tears that remained. Almost instantly I began feeling waves of calm sweep through my body making me sigh in content.

"That's not fair you know," I said leaning back in my chair. "Changing up my emotions like that."

Jasper's laugh filled the air between us making me smile. "Yeah, well I've gotta do my part seeing as you don't always have 'em."

"What do you mean?"

"There are some days where I don't feel any coming from you. Other days where I feel them come in strong waves."

"My medicine," I responded softly. Jasper's head tilted but his eyes remained on mine. "It makes me drowsy. It's supposed to help with everything but I can't really think straight when I take them."

"I can help. You don't need them." My heart fluttered rapidly. Something about him was a pull. I wanted to be closer, to talk and be around him. It made shivers roll down my spine at the thought.

"There's only so much you can do." My fingers were absentmindedly trailing over my sweater, where my scars would be.

He didn't say anything as he got up and moved next to me, warm feelings surrounded me despite his cold temperature. "How come you and Ally are the only two that don't have someone?"

Looking down at me he had a slight tug on the corner of his mouth. The half smirk always got me. "Who said we don't have anyone?" He teased.

I rolled my eyes. "It's so clear with everyone else."

"Vampires have mates, much like how wolves have imprints. Only instead of our purpose being to carry on the line it's so that we have someone. Forever is a long time. It gets quite lonely," he spoke.

"Where's yours?" My voice was childlike. My body and mind were feeling tired and my head slumped against his shoulder as I started falling asleep.

"She's here."

The next morning I woke up in the comfiest bed I've ever been in. Smiling and rolling myself in the blankets a large giggle escaped my mouth. I mentally thanked Alice even though she wasn't the mind reader just as a knock came on the door.

Esme poked her head in and gave me a bright smile. "I've made breakfast downstairs when you're ready."

It didn't take long for me to get out of the bed. Using the bathroom my cheeks flooded with heat at the thought of them being able to hear me pee. I quickly turned on the faucet in hopes of that covering the sound. Attempting to fix my hair I went downstairs as quietly as possible. They had amazing hearing and I didn't want to accidentally do something to hurt their ears.

The island had a wide arrange of food despite me being the only one who could eat. From waffles to french toast and many fruits, the first thing that stuck to me was the heavenly scent of fresh coffee. Naturally drifting towards the smell, I saw amazing coffee that had just been french pressed and got that first.

I could see Esme standing off to the side with her big smile and it made my heart ache. It had been so long since someone made me breakfast like this. Paul at best could give me toast but half the time it was burnt; not that his gesture went unappreciated.

"Thank you," I said with my own smile. She gave me a little nod and I sat at the counter and began to grab various foods for my plate.

"Good morning," was what I heard in my ear before I nearly jumped 5 feet in the air.

"Jesus Emmett, you scared the crap out of me! What if I had stabbed you with my fork?"

He boomed in laughter, "Well then I'd feel bad for that fork."

My cheeks turned red for what seemed to be the billionth time as Alice walked in and gave my shoulder a squeeze and Jasper followed, a smirk already on his face.

"I hope the bed was comfortable, I had to drag Bella with me to pick it up the other day." Alice spoke, bringing my eyes back to her.

"It was great. I slept better than normal." It made my brows pull together. It was one of the first nights I hadn't had a nightmare in awhile.

I sipped my coffee and watched Jasper who watched me. I looked at him with squinted eyes and he just shrugged with a smirk.

"Alice, do you still have my phone?"

Rolling her eyes she slid it over to me. I had many texts from Paul and a few from Jared. I saw a few missed calls from them as well and my stomach turned in worry. "Excuse me," I said quietly as I got up to call Paul. I knew they could hear the conversation but I still didn't want to be rude.

He answered on the second ring. "Where the fuck are you?"

"U-uh, didn't you get my text?" I stuttered. His anger was so strong I could practically feel it through the phone. "I'm at Bella's."

"Oh yeah? Then why did she just go to Jacob's with Charlie? Where, are, you?" Paul growled.

"Well I-," My voice squeaked a little as the phone was ripped out of my hands.

"She's safe with us, and she won't be coming home until you've calmed down." Jasper spoke into the phone. Venom laced his voice, no pun intended. I looked at the family still in the kitchen to see Emmett munching of a piece of bacon just to spit it out and try again, Esme standing with worry on her face, and Alice with her arms crossed.

I couldn't hear what Paul was saying as I desperately tried to reach for my phone again, only to have Jasper stick his arm out and hold me at arms length. After a few moments he mumbled something and hung up the phone, giving it back to me.

"You're allowed to stay one more night but you have to go home tomorrow morning. Something about a party." He said smoothly.

That made me angry.

"You didn't think to ask me what I wanted?" I asked angrily.

"I just thought maybe you'd want to spend another night learning more, and he was too angry to be around."

"Paul is fine! I can deal with Paul."

Jasper just turned and walked away. The attitude emitting from both of us was suffocating.

Not even a minute after he walked away I felt Emmett standing next to me. He leaned in to whisper in my ear, "I've got an idea."
