I was laying on the couch in my living room when Jared ran in through the door, slamming it behind him and pressing his back against it breathlessly.

"Dramatic much?" I joked.

"We've got," he stopped to inhale, "about 1 minute before he comes through the AH-" he was cut off my the door slamming open, throwing him to the ground.

Paul didn't even give his pack member a glance. I felt anxiety creep up as I leaned over to look at him. My heart was beating quickly and I shifted uncomfortably under my best friend's intense gaze. Slowly, he walked around before completely collapsing to his knees in front of me, teary eyes blazing.

It made my heart break.

"W-why didn't you tell me?"

"You weren't answering any of my calls or texts. I didn't get the chance."

He began stuttering, voice wavering uncontrollably, "I would have came sooner. You know I would have came over right away, right? I was just so angry about you taking their side before but it doesn't matter anymore."

"It's okay Paul. We're okay now." I was trying my best to reassure him but it didn't look like it was working.

"But you aren't. You're really sick and it's all my fault. I'm so sorry, Cay."

"It's not your fault."

"Yes it is! It's my blood making you sick. And if I hadn't been ignoring you when everything happened you wouldn't have needed my blood and if I hadn't been some freakish wolf boy my blood would have been normal and I would have never needed to ignore you in the first place and-"

I cut him off. Grabbing his face and attempting to wipe the tears off as he kept blubbering. "It's not your fault. I don't blame you."

Paul looked at me and covered my hands with his big ones. "Please don't leave me alone," he whispered.

"Never. Best friends forever, remember?" I said.

"Well now that that's settled and your door is dented, I can leave. Thanks by the way buddy. The floor really looked lonely and I was glad to help make it feel better, even though my face still kinda hurts," Jared spoke up from behind us.

I rolled my eyes. "You can stay dork."

"Yay!"

Hours passed, my feet were propped lazily on Paul's lap and Jared was sitting on the floor in front of us as we watched TV.

"I can't believe Richard did that! And don't get me started on Rebecca and the letter! She 100% knew that Amy was gonna find it, she just wanted to start more drama." Jared rambled, throwing popcorn at the TV.

"Yeah, I guess I can see why Gran watched this crap. There's so much drama going on that you never know what's gonna happen."

"For us maybe. But Gran always knew before it happened. You'd think she wrote the shit," Paul spoke up.

We all laughed for a bit, watching another episode before I started to feel dizzy despite sitting down. Paul must've noticed my change in attitude because he asked if I was okay right away. "I just feel sick again."

"Should we fill the tub. Cool you off or something like they did before?"

"No, I think I should just go to sleep. I'll go lie down." Even so, Paul still ran a rag under cold water to lay on my head while I went to sleep.
