Alice and Edward were barely holding in their laughs as they went over what was gonna happen in their heads again.
I was nervously waiting on the back porch for Jasper to come up. After 30 minutes of waiting I saw him. Stopping a few feet away from me he tilted his head.
"Everything okay?"
I looked at Emmett who was in a tree behind him who just gave me a huge smile and an enthusiastic thumbs up. Laughing nervously I just nodded.
"Yeah, I was just waiting for you to get back." He took one more step forward and smirked.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah." One more step. Another. "NOW!"
Emmett began throwing the paint balloons at a fast pace as I dove behind one of the trees. Jasper was very confused as he was being pelted in numerous colors before turning to look at me. Screaming, I reached for the gun that was filled with paint and began desperately spraying him and trying to run away.
I made my decision to run into the house for refuge because there was no way he could follow me while covered in paint, Esme would have his head. Quickly trying to jump over shrubs I turned to see him no longer there and knew he was guarding the door.
"Quick, Edward!" And at my call, Emmett tackled Jasper from the side and Edward opened the big window. I jumped as best I could and Edward helped pull me through.
"WE DID IT!" I shouted hopping up and down laughing. Alice was shaking her head at me as I had leaves and sticks in my hair and stuck to me. Outside we could see Jasper laughing as Emmett and him shoved each other back and forth.
"You did what?" Esme asked, walking into the room. Outside, Emmett chucked the last balloons somewhere far behind him and I dropped the gun. Unfortunately, the cheap plastic broke and began slowly spilling paint on the ground.
"Shit," I said quietly. Looking up at her with a sheepish smile she raised an eyebrow.
Edward quickly ran somewhere to avoid getting in trouble and Alice giggled from her seat.
"Emmett, clean this up." Esme called.
"Wh-what! She did it to!" He stomped childishly.
"Yes, well she can go spray off Jasper while you find those extras you threw."
My eyes were wide as I looked back and forth before making my way out the front door.
"Darlin', you could've just said you were still mad," he smirked at me as we made our way towards the hose.
"I could just leave you out here and wait for the rain to wash you off," I squinted at him.
He just smiled and spread his arms to be sprayed. To say that it wasn't fun to spray him in the face with the water would be a lie. However, when he ran towards me in a blur and turned it on me I was squealing at the freezing temperature.
"Jasper!" I laughed loudly as he sprayed the water all over me.
From a distance, Esme was smiling with Alice as they left out towels for the two.
After awhile of that Jasper soon stopped. Whether it was my shivering or my lips turning blue from the cold I don't know. He had a huge smile on his face as he grabbed a towel and wrapped it around me snugly.
Once we were both dry we went into the house and I changed into a pair of leggings Alice left out and a t-shirt I had brought. For the rest of the afternoon, we sat on the couch laughing and talking about everything. Other than the few breaks I had to take to eat the food Esme made me, we were uninterrupted.
It wasn't until later that night when I was sleeping did it go bad. My screaming echoed in the house as the nightmare swept over me. Tears pouring out of my closed eyes and my throat was aching at the tearing voice that seeped through it.
I remember cold hands shaking me as I woke up and Jasper's worried eyes.
"You're okay." He said, more to himself than anything. I wrapped my small arms around his neck and pulled him down onto the bed. He began whispering soft things into my ear and sent me all the best feelings he could.
"Don't leave please." I said quietly. He looked down at me and I shivered again from nerves. Nodding, he stayed on top of the covers in an attempt to not freeze me. Continuously sending warm and safe feelings my way I soon drifted back to sleep.

"I have a question for you." Jasper spoke nervously the next day. He was scratching the back of his neck and looked at the ground.
"Shoot," I said as we walked out to my car.
He stopped and grabbed my arm, pulling me to stop with him.
"Will you go on a date with me?" He asked. I could see his face scrunch up as he cringed at his own way of asking and my eyes widened.
"B-But you-"
"You can say no," he rushed out.
"No, Jas. I want to." I said. My face was bright red from blushing and he just smiled. His hand that had been on my arm trailed down to my hand as he held it and walked me to the car.
Opening my door for me he leaned against it. His usual smirk back. "Well darlin'. I guess I'll see you tomorrow night."
