Two Months Later
''Right Miss Dotty, let's get you ready,'' I say to my six month old daughter, who is babbling away. ''What shall we dress you in, hmm?'' We were off on a little family adventure. We were going to Edinburgh for a couple of days and I couldn't wait, we certainly needed this time away as a family.
Digging through her wardrobe, I find the perfect outfit. Dressing her, I look at her, thinking how lucky I am. I was so incredibly lucky, to have this life. The life I've always wanted. A wife. A house, two kids and a dog.
My little girl starts laughing to herself, lifting her legs up. I laugh at her. ''Silly munchkin.''
Sitting her up, I place her on our bed,
before placing a teething toy in her hand. She was in the process of teething so she was a bit ratty.
''Joe are you decent?'' My wife's voice beckons.
''Yeah, why?''
''Your son is too hyper and keeps shouting Dada.'' She giggles.
Chuckling, I reply. ''It's fine, let him come in,'' I unlock the door as my over hyper son comes in. ''Whoa, steady on bud,'' I chuckle at my son. ''Ah don't you look cute.'' I smile at my son who is wearing a cute little dungaree set.
