Nene's POV
"Wow, this is amazing," I said to the handsome tall man as he showed me around the mansion. It was hard to see his face, but I knew he was good-looking.
"You love it?" He asked, smiling. "Yes, I love it," I said in a whisper, overwhelmed by the beauty of the place.
"This is our new home...and I promise to always love you as long as I live." He said as he drew me closer.
I felt his breath fan against my cheek as he spoke into my ear, "You are my world."
He leaned back and looked at me. Then he slowly tilted his head moving towards me, and I felt so tense.
I could not explain the feeling that was taking over me. I shut my eyes, expecting what I thought would be a kiss.
Oh my, is he going to... yes, he is..."Nene!" Nene!"Wake up!" I heard that familiar voice, my mum's voice.
"Hmmm." "Mum, I'm awake. I was observing my morning devotion." I said, as I slowly opened my eyes and came back to reality.
"Morning devotion indeed!"You didn't even get up when I first called out to you. Get up now and join me to prepare breakfast!" Mum said, almost screaming at me.
"Yes, mum. I'll freshen up and join you."
"You better do! There's a lot to do today, so hurry up. Time waits for no one." She said as she left my room.
I walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror.
"It's just another silly dream." I said as I picked up my toothbrush and toothpaste.
"What silly dream?" Erima, my younger sister, asked as she joined me in the bathroom.
"Nothing. Please, can you wait till I'm done? Mum wants me in the kitchen ASAP."
"Hmmm. Josephine, the dreamer. Care to share your dream?" Erima said with a smirk
"No, I won't." "Move, please." I said, dragging her out.
"Ok. Ok. I'm leaving, but can't I just at least brush my teeth while you bathe?"I'll be late for school." Erima pleaded
"No, wait your turn." I said as I locked the door.
I don't know why I keep having this same dream, and it always feels real each time I wake up.
As I was bathing, I heard my mum yell my name:
"Nene! NENE!"Are you giving birth to a baby in the bathroom?!"For goodness sake, when will you come out?!"
"I'm almost done, Mum," I called out as I hurriedly put on my floral pattern dress and dashed out to join her.
"Nene, I am not happy with you at all." Mum said to me as soon as I walked into the kitchen.
"I'm sorry, Mum, I overslept. It won't happen again." I looked down as I apologized to her.
"A young girl of your age should be time-conscious. Is this how you will behave when you have your own home?" Mum asked as she chopped the vegetables.
"You are no longer a child. You are 18 years old. An adult! You should know how to manage your time and plan your day." she said without looking up as she picked another set of vegetables to chop.
"Lord knows how much I love you, your sister, and your brother. You may see my scolding as being harsh or strict, but my dear, I am doing it for your own good."
