Chapter 26

Nene's POV

Lola was pacing back and forth in the living room. She looked livid, an expression that i've never seen before. Why will my being with L.D make her this furious? Is there something she isn't telling me?

I know she was engaged to him some years ago even before they both met me but she told me that she didn't love him and that was the reason she called off the relationship...so why is my relationship with L.D so much of a big deal to the extent of getting her so pissed right now. I'd really want to know.

"Can you explain to me in clear terms, what i saw you both doing in the car?!" She yelled at me slightly.

"Lola, i don't need to explain what you 'saw'... we are adults... i'm sure you know what you 'saw'... and by the way, why are you so upset about what you 'saw'?" I replied calmly.

"Why won't i be upset? Can't you see what he is doing to you? He's taking advantage of your naïveté to get into your pants!" She snapped.

"He's really not like that..."

"Really?! And you're making that conclusion based on what? Based on the fact that you know him for how long? A day? A week?" She interjects.

"Look, I know this guy very well! He has a very bad reputation when it comes to relationships with women! I know him long enough to detect his craftiness, sleek moves and tricks! This guy wants to sleep with you and bounce! Can't you see that?? Gosh! Nene! WAKE UP! and see the trap he's leading you into." She yelled.

"Ook. I agree, you both became a couple before dating, which should have been the other way round... how can you even kiss a guy and make out with him in the car on your first date?! Who does that?! That's so not cool!"  She continued.

"I know i made a mistake doing that... but you are yet to answer my question... why are you so pissed seeing us make out in the car? I notice you are always angry whenever L.D is around me... are you by any chance still into him? Because i don't understand your frequent outburst." I asked with a shaky voice

There was silence. Lola looked shocked at what i said.

"Please, tell me. Do you still have feelings for L.D or did you have feelings for him at all?" I asked in a low tone, almost tearing up as i feared that Lola's replied may just shatter my heart.

"Wh...why would you even have this thought? Wow! I really didn't expect this from you!" Lola scoffed and walked away from me.

"It's a simple question that requires a 'yes' or 'no' answer. I need to know why you react the way you do whenever he is around me. Do you have feelings for L.D?" I asked, as i walked towards her.

Lola was silent for a while then she said:

"Nenny, i see that you are so carried away by all his sweet talks that you don't even realize you are falling for his trap.  You need to really get to know him before you become so intimate with him. Don't let your feelings becloud your senses... what i saw you both do tonight is just so wrong and it makes me feel so sick that you'll even tolerate such nonsense! Can't you see he clearly disrespected you...your dignity and your pride! If you don't see anything wrong with what he did then..."

"Please Lola, answer my question! It's either you say 'yes or no'. It's as simple as that." I interject.

"Yes!! But..." Lola yelled then paused.

My heart sank as i heard her say 'yes' and i began to tear up.

I wanted to hear more so i interjected:
