Chapter 21

Nene's POV

As days turned to weeks, it was very clear that L.D was avoiding me like the plague. Each time we managed to bump into each other, he'll glance at me and look away quickly without saying a word to me. I always felt a sharp pain in my chest whenever he does that.

I usually give off an appearance of an 'i'm not bothered' attitude, when in fact, it really bothered me that he keeps ignoring me. Deep within me, i so much want him to talk to me right now and i always wish i could go back to the days when he was all over me, wanting to get to know me.

The library became a second home for Lola and i as the first semester examinations were fast approaching. We would always go there during our free period and after we were done with the lectures of the day.

I was surprised when i noticed L.D was always at the library too, the same time we were there. Hmmm...is he stalking me or is it just me having a wishful thinking?

I was kind of glad to see him there though. If he wasn't going to speak to me, i was just content with stealing a glance at him from time to time.

One of the days Lola and i stayed back to read after our lectures, we decided to change location from the library to an empty lecture hall. After we've read for some hours, we took a break from reading and went for a short stroll to the car park.

Lola had some snacks and bars of chocolate with her so we both munched on them as we walked to the car park. We sat on her car bonnet, eating and chatting. Some moment later, two girls walked up to Lola and i.

These girls are very popular on campus and were known for making trouble and bullying their fellow female students. Lola and i never liked them, as a matter of fact, they were the ones who spearheaded and encouraged the incessant taunting, teasing and bullying i had been experiencing since the party incident.

Lola and i were so ready to put them in their place when they approached us at the car park. The tall girl said to me:

"AHa! There she is, i can see L.D is so done with you and that's why he's dumped you like trash! Useless thing!"

"Excuse me?! Is she talking to me?" I asked, looking at Lola.

"Yeah we're talking to you bitch! Who do you think you are, coming up all over L.D like his yours?! I'm glad he's dumped you like trash!" The second girl said.

I laughed and said:

"Bitch?! Is there a bitch here?" I asked Lola.

"Nope, definitely not here, where we sit... but yes, i only see two bitches standing over there." Lola chuckle, as she points at the two girls.

"I hate to break this to you... you're talking to the wrong person. I suggest you turn around and either go back into the lecture hall or go home." I concluded, rolling my eyes at them.

"You really have no shame, do you? You even have the effrontery to speak boldly when you should cower and hide." The first girl said.

"Cower? Hide in shame? For who? You? Pleeeeaaassse, get away from my sight and let me munch my snacks in peace. I don't have strength for catfights tonight." I replied, as Lola chuckled and handed a bar of chocolate to me.

"Can you imagine?! What rubbish?! This wannabe is using us to eat chocolate! No respect at all. Hey! Look here, you better get that bar of chocolate out of you mouth and listen to us right now or else..."

"Or else what?!" I yelled, as Lola and i jumped off the car bonnet and glared at both girls.

I was getting so pissed and irritated at their rude attitude, all i wanted was to make them leave Lola and i in peace. I guess Lola felt the same way because we both jumped off the car at the same time.
