❎❎❎WARNING!!This chapter may be very uncomfortable for readers battling with any form of mental illness. I apologise in advance.
Please if such is your case, skip this chapter to avoid any mental trigger. And if you still go ahead to read, please ensure you visit your threapist and observe your usual Mental Health Professional therapy session.
For those of us who are not battling with mental illness and who will read this chapter without experiencing any mental trigger whatsoever, this chapter exposes the character, Nene Silver's mental illness which she has been living with for years.
Nene was severely bullied in Primary school (also known as Pre-High school) and so, she developed a severe Anxiety disorder, which is a type of mental illness.
Over the years, due to negligence and lack of approriate Menatal Health Professional follow up or help, Nene's Anxiety disorder developed into a Mild Manic Depression (bipolar disorder II), another type of mental illness
She is also claustrophobic and this also, was due to the fact that she was constantly being locked up in very dark rooms in school by the bullies at a very young age. She never spoke out or report the bullies rather, she hid her ordeals from her parents and even from the teachers until it was too late.
This chapter introduces Nene's mild mental illness relapse (the relapse came as a result of her thinking that L.D isn't in love with her).
No one knows about Nene's medical condition except her immediate family, (which includes her parents and siblings) and to an extent, Lola, Nene's friend. They hid her medical condition from the public in order to protect her from being victimized, or discriminated-against in the society or locked up forever in a mental home.
If you have a friend or a loved one who is constantly overly aggressive for no reason, overly anxious or panicked, overly excited or overly energetic for no reason or exhibiting signs of being suicidal or constantly wishing for death or speaking to unknown or known persons that only they, and no one else can see, please endeavor to encourage them to seek for the appropriate Mental Health Professional help!
Mental illness is not outright Madness or insanity as most societies, especially the African society make it out to be. It is a medical condition that can be treated and managed if the patients seek the appropriate Mental Health Professional help on time!
Those battling with mental illness are human beings like us
All they need is love and care. So, show some love to them.😍🤗
Mental illness is very real!!
Stay safe❤

Nene's POV
▪▪▪ I paused as soon as i got to the first stairstep. My heart almost melted as i watched him whistling while he happily got busy at the dining area.
As i slowly descended the stairsteps, all my thoughts were of how much L.D disgusted me! The sight of L.D disgusts me! To think i gave a wicked person all my heart, hurts so badly. I had so much anger and hatred towards him as i slowly descended the stairs...
"There you are! I was just about to come call..." L.D stopped immediately he met face to face with my angry glare.
"Damn you, L,D! DAMN YOU!!" I yelled with a growl.
