Chapter 40

Nene's POV

Anger they say, is a strong force.

I was beyond angry... i was so pissed at how Lola treated L.D to the extent that i was restless all through the night. I couldn't bring myself to sleep well. I kept going in and out of my sleep, rolling on my bed, from one side to the other side continuously.

I jumped out of my bed as soon as i heard my phone alarm go off. Skipping my morning devotion, i head straight to the bathroom. I stood in front of the mirror and glared back at my reflection. I was suddenly scared of how angry i looked.

'Why am i even this angry? Look at me? I can't even recognise myself in the mirror. Control!! Nene, control yourself! Lola is your sister...you don't need to be mad at her like this. What happened yesterday is not enough reason for me to be this upset! This is not me! How can i be so angry with Lola?' I pondered within me.

"Nene, calm down and take a deep breath." I said aloud, closing my eyes and taking in deep breath and letting the air out several times.

'How did i let myself get so angry to this point... to the extent that i find it somewhat difficult to control my anger?' I kept saying within me while i still had my eyes shut as i continued to squeeze the faucet.

I composed myself and took my shower. While dressing up i kept recalling the previous night's incident and i got pissed the more, each time i pictured L.D pleading with Lola to allow him say his goodbye to me.

"What's wrong with Lola?! Who does she think she is to prevent me from seeing L.D?!" I said as i pulled out my books for the day's lectures from the bookshelf and toss them into my backpack.

A quick glance at my table clock and i realized it was still too early to leave for school... it's 5am!

"Arrrh! Why isn't it daylight yet." I pulled back the curtains and let out my frustration.

'I don't want to bump into Lola...i want to leave before she comes out of her room. I don't want to see her... she's annoying!!...' I kept saying within me.

I sat heavily on the mini couch pondering on what to do when my phone suddenly rang. Pulling out my phone from my backpack, i smiled widely when i saw the caller id.

"Olami!" I said excitedly as soon as i swiped the green touch button.

"Hey! My Precious Angel." L.D replied sweetly.

"Let me guess, you're set for school?!" He asked.

"Mm-hmm." I replied slowly.

"I thought as much. I knew you'd miss me so much to even close your eyelids. I didn't sleep either. In fact, i couldn't sleep at all. I missed you so much and that's why i came so early to pick you. I'm outside your house... come out."

"WHAT?! You are where?!" I asked, then i went to my window and pulled the curtain.

L.D was standing beside his car, parked across the street, waving at me.

"How long have you been there?" I asked, waving back.

L.D blew me a kiss and replied via his phone:

"I got here at about 4:30am... i knew you'll be up by that time so i came to wait for you. I want us to go to school together... um... i made you breakfast...your fave tuna sandwich and caramel-apple flavoured tea... i didn't know which flavour you'll like to have today so, i mixed both flavours, caramel and apple... i tasted it after i made it... Trust me, you'll like it when you taste it too... so, please, don't keep me waiting for too long or your breakfast will get cold... i'm hanging up now..."
