Chapter 19

Ola's POV

I drove to my house in Lekki Phase 1, which is two streets away from Soji's house. We always live very close to each other. Most people find it hard to believe that we have separate houses because i have some of my stuff at Soji's and Soji also has some of his stuff at my place. So it's really hard for anyone who is not a close friend to figure which house belongs to whom.

I know Soji will be furious with my action beyond control. I can just imagine his rage and outburst after i left, in the middle of his party with Nene. It's a move he'll never forgive and i know it will all end in a scuffle.

We made a rule that when anyone of us commits an unforgivable offence against the other, there will be a fight challenge anywhere and at anytime of the day. The loser will be at the mercy of the winner and do the winner's bid.

The fight goes on till one person give in to defeat. Yes, i know Soji is more ruthless and stronger than i, but i really don't care. For Nene, i'm willing to take up the challenge even if it means taking several blows from Soji. I will never lose to Soji when that day comes.

As i approached my street, the special cocktail Nene drank, started to take its toll on her. She started manifesting wildly, screaming or laughing hysterically from time to time.

Good thing is, i fastened her seat belt and activated the car door central lock because she made several attempts to open the car door. Oh my days, look at what that jerk has turned Nene into.

I clicked the remote button in my car to open the gate as soon as i approached my house. Nene by now, had started singing in a weird way, the nursery rhyme: 'London bridge is falling down'.

I almost choked with laughter as i heard her sing. I got out of my car and went to help her. As soon as i opened her door she whistled then growled and said:

"Wawu! My handsome knight is here... you so cuuuutttte."

She stressed the word 'cute' as she pout her lips and held my cheeks while i carried her out the car.

"Yeah, i know i'm cute. You're cute too." I chuckle.

"Hmmm. I love cute guys like you...very cute! Really cute...like you...." She wrapped her arms around my head then she rest her head on my left shoulder

"cute, cute, cute, my knight is sooooo cute!" She sang loudly then laughed hysterically.

"Are we in the forest? I see trees...cute trees... where is my cute tree?" She asked.

"Oh! Now you see trees?" I chuckle.

"Yes. This is a funny looking flower....i want it...why is it hard to pluck?" She pulled my right ear hard.

"Don't worry, you'll pluck it when we get inside the house." I said quickly, as i opened my front door and walked into my house.

Immediately we got in, it started to rain heavily. I turn on the light and laid her on the couch, she jumped and ran towards dining area, picked the artificial flower in a vase and began to cry uncontrollably.

"Awww...poor thing...it's so sad....it looks sad. I feel its pain so much. Hush now, i'll cheer you up." She said in the midst of her tears, singing and rocking the flower.

I grinned at her display at first but then, i felt my eyes tear up. It hurts to see her exhibit wildly. I'm glad i got her out of the party in time. I wouldn't have forgiven myself if those jerks had taken advantage of her in this vulnerable state.

I sniffed and wiped my tears as i approached her, gave her a hug, held her still and said:

"I'm sorry. It's my fault. I shouldn't have allowed that jerk anywhere near you. I wouldn't have allowed you drink the cocktail if you were with me. But don't worry, i'll protect you now."
