Chapter 43

Nene's POV

▪▪▪As Lola and i made an attempt to walk towards where Kunle was confined i heard that familliar voice that always sent my heart racing with joy...

"What the hell is going on here?!" L.D asked, he sounded pissed.

Lola and i turned to face L.D and i cringed as soon as i saw his facial expression. L.D looked so infuriated! He looked like a beast that is ready to pounce on its prey.

"Can someone tell me why this fucking good-for-nothing loser is here?!" L.D's voice was as loud as thunder.

L.D kept glaring at Kunle in a murderous way

I swallowed hard and looked around to see a huge crowd standing and observing the whole incident from afar.

This is bad news!! L.D's presence here, is bad news!! Having Kunle and L.D together in one place, is like having a hurricane or a tsunami wreak havoc!!

I kept on praying silently.▪▪▪

I left Lola and quickly rushed towards L.D and i said to him almost in a whisper:

"Olami, please i beg you in the name of God, don't cause a scene... we are off-campus... all is well... As you can see, Lola has it under control. Please, the last thing i want is for this incident to escalate and be all over the news..."

"What do you mean by i shouldn't cause a scene?! From what i can see, all is not well here! That lowlife over there, is the one causing a scene, not me... So, you want me to standby and allow this scumbag go scot-free after he attacked you? I will not only cause a scene, i will burn down this entire place." L.D fumed as he spoke through his clenched teeth.

As L.D gently pushed me aside and made an attempt to pounce on Kunle, i yelled at the top of my voice:

"HE DIDN'T TOUCH ME!!"

"HE DIDN'T?!! ANGEL, I'M FREAKING NOT JOKING! I AM NOT JOKING!! ANGEL, ARE YOU SURE HE DIDN'T LAY A FINGER ON YOU?!! I'LL CRUSH HIS BONES IF HE DID!" L.D yelled.

"I SWEAR, HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO ME!!" I yelled back.

"Please, Olami... i beg you... please control your anger... just this once... do it for me, please." I said in a low tone as i clasped my hands, pleading with L.D.

I was so close to shedding tears, as i kept on pleading with L.D.

L.D cupped my face in his hands and he said sweetly:

"You know i'll do anything for you. I hate to see you this way... i'm trying to understand why he keeps lurking around you. I don't understand why he has to be anywhere near you... so, tell me, why is he here? What's he doing here? Angel, why do you always plead on his behalf? Huh?!"

"No, no, no! I can assure you, it's not what you think... he came out of nowhere and attacked Lola... he tried to strangle Lola that's why Lola activated her panic button and her bodyguards came to our aide." I replied as tears trickled down my cheeks.

"WHAT?!! HE DID WHAT?! STRANGLE LOLA?! THIS GUY HAS BITTEN OFF MORE THAN HE COULD CHEW!! " L.D yelled as he looked towards where Kunle was confined.

"Can't you see this is the more reason why i should deal with him right now!! An attack on your bossom friend can be equated to an attack on you! I need to treat his fuck up, as in, right now! Please don't hold me back!" L.D snapped but i pulled him back and gave him a tight hug.

(P.S: "...I need to treat his fuck up..."

Whenever a Nigerian makes this statement, it simply implies that he or she intends to beat up an offender and to check (or put) their nasty attitude in the right place.)
